They themselves admit that it’s not possible to
come to the same conclusions as the “organization”
by reading only the Bible. The reality is that if one
solely reads the Bible, he will discover that the Word
of God contradicts the teachings of the Jehovah’s
Witnesses—and that is precisely what they fear.
Hence they threaten and scare their members out of
reading the Bible by itself and learning the truth.
3. DON’T THINK FOR YOURSELF
God created man in His image and likeness. One of
the characteristics that distinguishes human beings
from animals is their ability to independently think
and reason. In the Bible we see that even God
appeals to man’s reason and human intelligence:
“Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD”
(Isaiah 1:18).
However, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society
doesn’t want you to think and reason for yourself.
According to them, we should only believe what
they tell us without questioning or doubting:
“Really, can we get along without the direction
of God's organization? No, we cannot! ...Fight
Against Independent Thinking”.

“The student must express himself as he
understands the truth. (Gal. 6:6) He cannot
have independent thinking.”

“Avoid Independent Thinking. Avoid
questioning the counsel that is provided by
God's visible organization.
January 15, 1983, p. 22)
The prohibition to think for one’s self and question
the teachings of the Watchtower without a doubt
classify the Jehovah’s Witnesses as a cult. Only a cult
has that much control over the minds of its
members. It is not surprising, then, that a study
conducted several decades ago revealed a high
percentage of mental illness within their
membership. (1)
4. DON’T BELIEVE THEM!
As we have seen, the Watchtower organization is
anything but the way to God. Please don’t commit
the grave error of joining this unbiblical cult. The
bible teaches that salvation is not found in any
group or religion; it is found only in the Lord Jesus
Christ (John 14:6). He died on the cross for our sins,
taking upon Himself our punishment, the wrath of
God that we deserved. Then He rose from the grave
and defeated death. If you repent of your sins and
trust in Him with all your heart, believing that only
He can save you, He will forgive you and grant you
salvation (Rom. 10:13). Please do it today, you may
not have tomorrow.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses vs. the Word of
God
The Jehovah’s Witnesses claim to be the only
religious group with the truth, and the only means
by which the world can be saved. Perhaps you have
once considered, or are currently considering,
studying the Bible with them…or you may even be
considering joining this great and numerous
worldwide organization. Or perhaps you are only
curious to know a little more of what they teach. If
any of the above describes you, this tract is for you.
There are four important things you need to know
about the Jehovah’s Witnesses and their
organization, the Watchtower Bible and Tract
Society.
1. DON’T TELL THE WHOLE TRUTH
The Watchtower Society teaches that it’s okay for
Jehovah’s Witnesses to lie and hide the truth from
those who are not Witnesses. Like astute
businessmen, the Jehovah’s Witnesses will not share
the whole truth with their prospective “clients”,
with the purpose of convincing them to convert to
their religion. The following quotes are from their
own publications:
“No sooner had she appeared on the street than
a Communist officer asked her if she had seen a
woman with a red blouse. No, she replied, and
went on her way. Did she tell a lie? No, she did
not. She was not a liar. Rather, she was using
theocratic war strategy, hiding the truth by
action and word for the sake of the ministry… So
 in time of spiritual warfare it is proper to
misdirect the enemy by hiding the truth. It is
done unselfishly; it does not harm anyone; on
the contrary, it does much good…today God's
servants are engaged in a warfare, a spiritual,
theocratic warfare, a warfare ordered by God
against wicked spirit forces and against false
teachings…At all times they must be very careful
not to divulge any information to the enemy
that he could use to hamper the preaching
work.”

“Lying generally involves saying something false
to a person who is entitled to know the truth
…while malicious lying is definitely condemned
in the Bible, this does not mean that a person is
under obligation to divulge truthful information
to people who are not entitled to it.”
(Insight on the Scriptures, Volume 2, Pages 244-
245).
Clearly, the Watchtower organization tries to justify
lying, and teaches that if you are not a Jehovah’s
Witness, you are the “enemy” in their spiritual war
and have no right to know the whole truth.
Therefore, upon inquiring a Jehovah’s Witness
about their real beliefs, there is no way to be sure
that the person to whom you will be talking is being
completely honest with you.
Now, compare the above quotes with the words of
the apostle Paul in the Scriptures:
“But we have renounced disgraceful,
underhanded ways. We refuse to practice
cunning or to tamper with God's word, but by
the open statement of the truth we would
commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in
the sight of God.”
-2 Corinthians 4:2
“For our appeal does not spring from error or
impurity or any attempt to deceive”.
-1 Thessalonians 2:3
The apostle Paul had no reason whatsoever to hide
from anyone the truths of the Word of God and the
Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. God is light, and in
Him there is no darkness (1 John 1:5), and likewise
His children walk in the light and not in the darkness
of deceit. The true servants of the Lord have left all
falsehood and only speak the truth in love
(Ephesians 4:15, 25). In fact, Satan is the “father of
lies” (John 8:44) and his children are “deceitful
workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of
Christ” (2 Cor.11:13).
2. DON’T STUDY THE BIBLE FOR YOURSELF
The Bible teaches that we need to examine
everything with the Word of God (1 Thes. 5:21). The
book of Acts even recounts that a group of believers
from the city of Berea were “noble” because when
Paul preached the Gospel to them, they searched
the Scriptures daily to see if what he said was true
(Acts 17:11).
However, the Watchtower Society teaches that one
should not study the Bible for himself:
“But in Jehovah's organization it is not
necessary to spend a lot of time and energy in
research, for there are brothers in the
organization who are assigned to do that very
thing…Often the very best and most beneficial
studying you do is that done when you read a
new Watchtower or Awake! or a new book with
the joy of getting the new truths and a fresh
view”. (The Watchtower June 1, 1967 p.338)
“Furthermore, not only do we find that people
cannot see the divine plan in studying the Bible
by itself, but we see, also, that if anyone lays
the SCRIPTURE STUDIES aside, even after he
has used them, after he has become familiar
with them, after he has read them for ten
years—if he then lays them aside and ignores
them and goes to the Bible alone, though he
has understood his Bible for ten years, our
experience shows that within two years he
goes into darkness.”

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society blatantly
contradicts the Word of God by teaching that one
should only accept and believe that what they say is
the truth without searching the Scriptures. And
more shocking still is the fact that they accuse those
who study the Bible for themselves of being of
Satan:
"From time to time, there have arisen from
among the ranks of Jehovah's people those,
who, like the original Satan, have adopted an
independent, faultfinding attitude...They say
that it is sufficient to read the Bible exclusively,
either alone or in small groups at home. But,
strangely, through such 'Bible reading,' they
have reverted right back to the apostate
doctrines that commentaries by Christendom's
