Flora and Fauna: You may see a brush tailed possum at night in the bush
areas, and if you are along the coast you may spot a humpback whale and
bottle-nosed dolphin, along with many other marina life. Very near sydney in
the blue mountains there is a rare population of the Wollemi Pine, although in
the direct sydney area it is easy to spot a wattle tree, with its yellow bloom.
Flora and Fauna: Here it is ideal to keep an eye out for the mallee, there are
many different types such as the ridge-fruited mallee. At the conservation
park you can see many banskia trees. They also have a Mallee bird that feeds
on the mallee trees nectar. Recently discovered ‘Swamp Wallabies’ along with
many other mammals inhabit Adelaide.
Flora and Fauna: The wildlife in this area is highly diverse. The Common
health is a slender, uptight shrub about 1m in height, it is also Victorias floral
emblem. The helmeted honeyeater bird is an endangered species due to very
small habitat areas, they are only 20cm in height making them very
vulnerable to predators.
Climate: On average the temperatures range from 10.2 Degrees to 19.8 Degrees.
Melbourne is very sunny and on an average day you get about 13 hours of
sunlight. It rains about 1/3 of the year, and the climate is very mild, compared
to some other countries.
Flora and Fauna: In this area wet eucalypt forests are common, there are many
shrubs and scrubland, in this area. There are many birds with over 70 species
already discovered, one of these is the Australian Pipit, if you see this you are
very lucky as it is hard to spot and very uncommon!
Climate: The sunlight here ranges from 4 to 9 hours and it can get very cold
in winter although in summer its usually a pleasant 23 Degrees. They get
quite alot of rain all year round.
Interesting Fact: Aboriginal Middens (shell and bone deposits) have been
found in the sand!
Flora and Fauna: The AUstralian White Ibis can cause problems, yet if people
aren’t careless they are a beautiful piece of nature. Many types of corals are
found of the coast along with turtles fish and many other water mammals!
Climate: Brisbane is warm and very good beach weather with temps almost
always in or above the twenties! The humidity is almost always high and can
make it slightly uncomfortable! It is called the sunshine state because of long
sunlight hours and many sunny days each year.
Interesting Fact: During World War II, many US forces were stationed in
Brisbane and the University of Queensland campus was turned into a
military barracks for the last three years of the war.
