very mellow, friendly and gentle. He loves getting attention and
will make a great new companion for his new family. If you are
looking for a super sweet and loving guy, please come and meet
Wilcox.

Hi there, my name is Odie. I was brought to the shelter

when Bennington PD found me in a car because my own-
ers weren't allowed to have pets, I had been living in there
all winter. I am a very friendly, playful, and active Golden
Retriever and Chow Mix who knows how to sit and lay
down but still need some more recall training. I get along
with other dogs and cats, and would be fine in a home with
kids of any ages. If I sound like the dog for you, please ask
a staff member for more information.

typical energetic puppy, who needs someone with a little
extra time to work with me so I can learn some basic obedi-
ence. I am a very friendly, tolerant, little lapdog that loves to
play with toys. I am pretty good on the leash, crate trained,
like car rides, and don't mind being groomed but will still need
some work becoming housebroken. If I sound like the dog for
you, please ask a staff member for more information.

THURMAN TOWNWIDE SALE

TO LAUNCH MAY 13 THROUGH 15.There will be miles of smiles and bags of bargains in Thurman during the Townwide Sale, come rain, shine or you-know-what. The sale committee has just
finished polling local residents about the goods they will be offering for sale next weekend, May 13, 14 and 15, during the annual event that runs from “9 until?” with the question mark representing
the time that sale-holders drop from exhaustion. Sellers will be setting out tables and canopies all over town, From Huber Road near The Glen to Mud Street, River Road, Cameron Road, Wm. J. Baker
Road and myriad roads in between. Some will sell one or two days only, while others are in it for the long haul. An enticing array of items, ranging from practical and useful to the stuff dreams are made
of will entice shoppers to follow every byway. The sale list includes a Victorian commode, wooden Radio Flyer wagons, jewelry, garden seedlings, perennials, toddler togs and toys, vintage
Tupperware, NASCAR items, electronics, maple products, camping gear, boats, tractors, trucks and much, much more. One resident will even have a “For Sale” sign on a small pony. Numerous realtors
will host open houses at various times over the weekend for those ready for a break from treasure-hunting. The Thurman EMS will open its doors on Saturday to meet the public, offer rest rooms and
refreshments, as well as free blood pressure checks. A sampling of items for each registered sale is listed on the maps to be handed out in town during the sale, and will be available online the week before
the sale. Request an emailed version at ThurmanInfo@aol.com. The map also directs shoppers to food, rest rooms, a phone and open houses. Find Thurman a short hop from Northway exit 23
(Warrensburg) by following hot pink signs along routes 9 and 418. Visit www.persisgranger.com/thurman_townwide_sale.htm. Questions? Phone 518-623-9305.
