Project Description

Husky Air is a prominent airline company located at the DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport in
DeKalb, Illinois. Husky Air provides services such as refueling, aviation maintenance, rentals,
and aviation supplies to volunteer pilots referred to as Pilot Angels. Pilot Angels work with
hospitals and healthcare agencies by flying patients in need of surgery, diagnostics, or other
medical services to their necessary destinations.

Husky Air requires a database system to keep track of all information critical to its operations to
replace their paper file system. The database will utilize information such as names, addresses,
and phone numbers, as well as other useful flight information.

Measurable Organizational Value

Team Venture will provide a compatible database system solution based on the alternatives
stated, and then construct and implement that database.

Objectives:
1. Organizational Value
a. The Database will contain a list of information on:
i. Pilot Angels; name address phone number, total hours, certifications, etc
ii. Planes; name, type of plane, identification number (n-number), engine
type, capacity (passengers and cargo), ownership
iii. Patients; name, condition, address, destination, medical history, etc
iv. Passengers; name, address, relationship, etc
v. List of flights; pilot who flew flight, passengers on board, plane used, total
time of flight, distance and destination of flight, date and time of the flight,
and total fuel used.
2. Better Service
a. Match patience with most compatible pilot, plane, and equipment
i. Database will be able to handle simple queries that coordinate flights more
efficiently
3. Faster Information
a. Reduce the time required to process a patient
i. Database will be easily accessible to staff and will be able to attain
information in real time for employees

The target metrics will be achieved within three months of implementation by using surveys and
observations to prove objectives.
Summary:
Husky Air’s Pilot Angel Program will possess a functional database system in order to provide
faster information for its operational staff and pilots, as well as better service for its patients.
