PRESENTATION ON PHYSICS IN DAILY LIFE SYED ATIF GILANI PHYSICS •It is the branch
of science that deal the
study properties of matter an energy and
along within the interaction between them.
•Astrophysics
•Atomic physics
•Biophysics
•Chemical Physics
•Classical physics
•Condensed matter physics
•Molecular physics
•Nuclear Physics
•Optical physics
•Particle Physics
•Quantum Physics
•Thermodynamics
Branches of physics EXAMPLES EXAMPLES
•Inph ysics,motion means a continuous
change in the position
of a body relative to a
reference point, as
measured by a
particularobserver in
a particular
frame of reference MOTION
•Gravitation is a naturalphenomenon by
which all objects with mass attract each
other. In everyday life, gravitation is most
familiar as the agency that endows objects
withweight.
GRAVITATION
•Friction is theforce that opposes the relative motion of two surfaces in contact
. It is not a fundamental force, as it is derived from electromagnetic forces be
tweenatoms.
FRICTION
Wind Energy •Wind can be used as a source of energy (windmills, sailing ships, et
c.)
•Really just kinetic energy
•Example: wind passing through a square
meter at 8 meters per second –Each second we have 8 cubic meters –Air has density of
1.3 kg/m3, so (8 m3)× (1.3 kg/m3) = 10.4 kg of air each second
–½mv2 = ½× (10.4 kg)× (8 m/s)2 = 333 J
–333 J every second
•Stronger winds→ more power (likev2)
Chemical Energy •Electrostatic energy (associated with
charged particles, like electrons) is
stored in the chemical bonds of
substances.
•Rearranging these bonds can release
energy (some reactionsrequire energy
to be put in)
