EVERGREEN LINE

OBJECTIVE OF THE COMPANY

“We will not wait for legislation to be introduced. We will use the latest technology as soon as it
is available so as to minimize the impact of container shipping operations both on marine life,
on port communities and on humanity worldwide."

Evergreen has been in the forefront as the international trade and transportation industry works to
develop the foundation for a sustainable global container transportation system –
environmentally, socially, economically and commercially responsible and viable. We recognize
the obligation to conduct affairs as a constructive corporate member of society and established an
occupational Safety, Quality and Environmental Protection Management System for our cargo
ships (Container Carriers) and our shore-based personnel.

It is estimated that every year more than 2 million sea birds and 100,000 marine mammals die
from waste materials discarded by humans.  Rain forests, home to many precious species, are
shrinking at an alarming rate of 10 million hectare per year. In view of this depletion of natural
resources and exploitation of the environment, governments and protection groups have been
calling the world’s attention to these serious problems. They are also trying to stop the worsening
situation through binding agreements and regulations.

Philosophy

With more than 78% of the planet earth made up of water, mankind has always
depended on the oceans for survival and progress. Waterborne transportation has been
the central role in the pursuit of a better life with food, clothing, automobiles,
computers and almost all daily consumer products—and people-- delivered efficiently
to every part of the world.

Civilizations have grown through economic development relying on trade. Ocean

transportation has made this possible with more than 75 percent of global trade –
more than US$6.6 trillion of merchandise – today carried over the seas.
In recent years, the earth and the sea have encountered significant environmental
problems, including greenhouse gas emission, desertification, water pollution, waste
processing, air pollution, ozone depletion, soil erosion and extinction of endangered
species.

To make this happen, Evergreen Line is committed to: Establish safeguards against
all identified risk and to maintain a safe and healthy work environment aboard all
ships and shore staff under management.

Prevent pollution from spillage and illegal

discharge of oil, illegal disposal of garbage
and any harmful substance, and by
maintaining emissions to the atmosphere to a
minimum.

Comply with applicable national and international safety and pollution prevention
laws and regulations regarding air, water and environment in general; and any other
requirements to which we subscribe.

Provide services of quality, safety and efficiency. Through management review, we

assess the adequacy, effectiveness, and suitability of our management system,
including our stated policies and associated objectives, to ensure these targets are
met.

Green Ships
Ever Superb, the fifth in the Evergreen Group's series of 7024 TEU S-type container
vessels, has been named Ship of the Year 2006 by leading Asian maritime publication
Lloyd's List Maritime Asia.

Evergreen vessels throughout the world have been brought into line with a company
policy of compliance with environmental issues and meeting recommended standards,
whether mandated by law or voluntary. Evergreen Line's newest company-designed
and built full-container vessels were intended to surpass all requirements for container
carriers. As early as 2002 Evergreen Line was awarded the first ever recognition for
Environmental Excellence by the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. The award
demonstrates Evergreen's position as a catalyst among ocean carriers in conforming to
and initiating environmental policies. In this spirit since 2003 Evergreen has taken
delivery of a fleet of S-type "Greenships" aimed at taking a leadership position in
innovative vessel design and meeting the green policies of its customers.
