Course Name: UMTS-TDD Network Design and Optimization Training

Deployment Options: Onsite - Instructor-Led Training

Course Duration: 2-3 days depending on audience background and options

Introduction:

As the implementation of broadband wireless access technologies and UMTS gathers worldwide momentum,
there’s growing interest in using UMTS-TDD for broadband wireless access. We created this course to respond to
the need for a good, strong course on the design and optimization of UMTS-TDD networks.

In this course, you will build on your existing knowledge of the UMTS network architecture and operation by
learning how to design and optimize a radio network based on the TDD mode of UMTS. We will learn both the user
and network equipment protocols. We will cover in detail the connection of the TDD RAN to the 3G core and IP
networks. We will also study in depth the dimensioning and optimization of both the radio and core network
parameters. All in all, the course will help you design UMTS-TDD networks that provide optimum performance for
broadband wireless services while also being cost effective

Audience:

Those with UMTS-TDD background who wish to learn more about the UMTS-TDD network design and
optimization process. The standard presentation of this course assumes a bachelor of science in Electrical
Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related subject along with an appropriate background in communications
engineering.

Prerequisites:

• Knowledge of the wireless network structure and operation, RF propagation and fading issues, and link
budget analysis.
• At least two years experience in the design and optimization of a wireless network using any major
technology.

Customize it:
This 2-3-day UMTS course will be customized to your needs and specifications. Enowireless will assist you in
identifying those needs and specifications. A word to the wise, there are many vendors of wireless training. They
will typically have a broad and general course, one size fits all, already developed and just put your organization’s
name on the title slide. This minimizes their effort and time investment. At Enowireless, every course is made to
your exact and exacting specifications. We help you ensure what you are getting is what you really need even if at
the beginning you weren’t too sure of what that was. We fit the class to your needs. We never fit you into our
“standard”, one size fits all, class.

Course Name: GSM Optimization Training and Advanced Features Training

Deployment Options:
Onsite - Instructor-Led Training

Course Duration:
2 days depending on audience background and options.
Introduction:

GSM is a mature technology rich in features, capabilities, and options intended to solve a host of specific
problems. This course, third in our series of courses on GSM, examines these advanced features and offers
practical strategies for exploiting them to optimize GSM networks.

Audience:

Experienced GSM engineers who wish to study the advanced functionality of GSM. The standard presentation of
this course assumes a bachelor of science in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related subject
along with an appropriate background in communications engineering.

Customize it:

This 2-day GSM Optimization course will be customized to your needs and specifications. Enowireless will assist
you in identifying those needs and specifications. A word to the wise, there are many vendors of wireless training.
They will typically have a broad and general course, one size fits all, already developed and just put your
organization’s name on the title slide. This minimizes their effort and time investment. At Enowireless, every course
is made to your exact and exacting specifications. We help you ensure what you are getting is what you really
need even if at the beginning you weren’t too sure of what that was. We fit the class to your needs. We never fit
you into our “standard”, one size fits all, class.

Course Aim:

While the ‘standard features’ of GSM are indeed quite powerful, a superb technology, such as GSM, offers options
and capabilities that go beyond the “surface” of initial implementations. Having completed this course, you will be
able to identify performance problems in a GSM network, existing or potential, and use GSM’s advanced
functionality to help resolve them. Armed with the knowledge of GSM’s ‘power features’, you will be able to achieve
more optimum network operation including better voice quality and greater capacity.
