IC = Irresistible Call (Irresistible Grace)
PG = Preserving Grace (Perseverance of the Saints)

IC (Genesis 3:8-9) And the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the
LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man and said
to him, “Where are you?”

IC (Genesis 3:11, 13) He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of
the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?”…Then the LORD God said to the
woman, “What is this that you have done?”

DA (Genesis 3:15) I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your
offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.

DA (Genesis 3:21) And the LORD God made for Adam and for his wife garments of
skins and clothed them.

PG (Genesis 7:16) And those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God
had commanded him. And the LORD shut him in.

RD (Genesis 8:21) I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intention
of man’s heart is evil from his youth.

SE (Genesis 12:1-3) Now the LORD said to Abram, “Go from your country and your
kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a
great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a
blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in
you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

SE (Genesis 17:19-21) God said, “No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you
shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting
covenant for his offspring after him. As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I have
blessed him and will make him fruitful and multiply him greatly. He shall father twelve
princes, and I will make him into a great nation. But I will establish my covenant with
Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this time next year.”

SE (Genesis 18:19) For I have chosen him, that he may command his children and his
household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing righteousness and justice, so
that the LORD may bring to Abraham what he has promised him.

older shall serve the younger.

hardened; he refuses to let the people go.”

DR (Exodus 9:12; 10:1, 20) But the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he did not
listen to them, as the LORD had spoken to Moses…Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go
in to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants”…But the
LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not let the people of Israel go.

DA (Exodus 12:3, 5, 7) Tell all the congregation of Israel that on the tenth day of this
month every man shall take a lamb according to their fathers’ houses, a lamb for a
household…Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old. You may take it from
the sheep or from the goats…Then they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two
doorposts and the lintel of the houses in which they eat it.

DA (Exodus 12:13) The blood shall be a sign for you, on the houses where you are. And
when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you,
when I strike the land of Egypt.

IC (Exodus 12:42, 51) It was a night of watching by the LORD, to bring them out of the
land of Egypt…And on that very day the LORD brought the people of Israel out of the
land of Egypt by their hosts.

PG (Exodus 14:13-14, 21-22, 30) And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm,
and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians
whom you see today, you shall never see again. The LORD will fight for you, and you
have only to be silent.”…Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD
drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the
waters were divided. And the people of Israel went into the midst of the sea on dry
ground, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left…Thus the
LORD saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians
dead on the seashore.
RD (Exodus 32:1-3) When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the
mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron and said to him, “Up, make
us gods who shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought up up out of the
land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.” So Aaron said to them, “Take
off the rings of gold that are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and
bring them to me.” So all the people took off the rings of gold that were in their ears and
brought them to Aaron.

SE (Exodus 33:19) I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on
whom I will show mercy.

DA *Leviticus 16

the LORD your God hardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, that he might give
him into your hand, as he is this day.

SE (Deuteronomy 4:37) He loved your fathers and chose their offspring after them.

SE (Deuteronomy 7:6-8) For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD
your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the
peoples who are on the face of the earth. It was not because you were more in number
than any other people that the LORD set his love on you and chose you, for you were the
fewest of all peoples, but it is because the LORD loves you and is keeping the oath that
he swore to your fathers.

SE (Deuteronomy 10:14-15) Behold, to the LORD your God belong heaven and the
heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it. Yet the LORD set his heart in love on
your fathers and chose their offspring after them, you above all peoples, are you are this
day.

IC (Deuteronomy 30:6) And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart
of your offspring, so that you will love the LORD your God with all your heart and with
all your soul, that you may live.

DR (Joshua 11:20) For it was the LORD’s doing to harden their hearts that they should
come against Israel in battle, in order that they should be devoted to destruction and
should receive no mercy but be destroyed, just as the LORD commanded Moses.

RD (Judges 2:10-11) And all that generation also were gathered to their fathers. And there
arose another generation after them who did not know the LORD or the work that he had
done for Israel. And the people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the LORD and
served the Baals. And they abandoned the LORD, the God of their fathers, who had
brought them out of the land of Egypt. They went after other gods, from among the gods
of the peoples who were around them, and bowed down to them. And they provoked the
LORD to anger. They abandoned the LORD and served the Baals and the Ashtaroth.
RD (Judges 21:25) In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right
in his own eyes.

RD (1 Samuel 2:12) Now the sons of Eli were worthless men. They did not know the
LORD.

RD (1 Samuel 3:7) Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, and the word of the LORD
had not yet been revealed to him.

IC (1 Samuel 3:4-6, 8) Then the LORD called Samuel, and he said, "Here I am!" and ran
to Eli and said, "Here I am, for you called me." But he said, "I did not call; lie down
again." So he went and lay down. And the LORD called again, "Samuel!" and Samuel
arose and went to Eli and said, "Here I am, for you called me." But he said, "I did not
call, my son; lie down again." And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he
arose and went to Eli and said, "Here I am, for you called me." Then Eli perceived that
the LORD was calling the young man.

DR (1 Samuel 16:14-16) Now the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and a harmful
spirit from the LORD tormented him. And Saul's servants said to him, "Behold now, a
harmful spirit from God is tormenting you. Let our lord now command your servants who
are before you to seek out a man who is skillful in playing the lyre, and when the harmful
spirit from God is upon you, he will play it, and you will be well."

DR (1 Samuel 18:10-11) The next day a harmful spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and
he raved within his house while David was playing the lyre, as he did day by day. Saul
had his spear in his hand. And Saul hurled the spear, for he thought, “I will pin David to
the wall.” But David evaded him twice.

DR (1 Samuel 19:9-10) Then a harmful spirit from the LORD came upon Saul, as he sat
in his house with his spear in his hand. And David was playing the lyre. And Saul sought
to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he eluded Saul, so that he struck the spear into
the wall. And David fled and escaped that night.

IC (1 Kings 8:57-58) The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers. May he
not leave us or forsake us, that he may incline our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways
and to keep his commandments, his statutes, and his rules, which he commanded our
fathers.

SE (Nehemiah 9:7a) You are the LORD, the God who chose Abram…

IC (Nehemiah 9:7b) …and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans and gave him the
name Abraham.

Maker?
RD (Job 9:2) "Truly I know that it is so: But how can a man be in the right before God?

RD (Job 14:4) Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? There is not one.

RD (Job 15:14-16) What is man, that he can be pure? Or he who is born of a woman, that
he can be righteous? Behold, God puts no trust in his holy ones, and the heavens are not
pure in his sight; how much less one who is abominable and corrupt, a man who drinks
injustice like water!

RD (Job 25:4-6) How then can man be in the right before God? How can he who is born
of woman be pure? Behold, even the moon is not bright, and the stars are not pure in his
eyes; how much less man, who is a maggot, and the son of man, who is a worm!

PG (Psalm 1:6) The LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked
will perish.

RD (Psalm 2:1-3) Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the
earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against
his Anointed, saying, "Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us."

SE (Psalm 4:3) But know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD
hears when I call to him.

RD (Psalm 5:9) For there is no truth in their mouth; their inmost self is destruction; their
throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue.

RD (Psalm 7:14) Behold, the wicked man conceives evil and is pregnant with mischief
and gives birth to lies.

RD (Psalm 14:1-3) They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does
good. The LORD looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any
who understand, who seek after God. They have all turned aside; together they have
become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.

PG (Psalm 16:10-11) For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see
corruption. You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of
joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

SE (Psalm 33:12) Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has
chosen as his heritage!

RD (Psalm 36:1-3) Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear
of God before his eyes. For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be
found out and hated. The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit; he has ceased to act
wisely and do good.
PG (Psalm 37:23-28) The steps of a man are established by the LORD, when he delights
in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the LORD upholds his hand.
I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his
children begging for bread. He is ever lending generously, and his children become a
blessing. Turn away from evil and do good; so shall you dwell forever. For the LORD
loves justice; he will not forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children
of the wicked shall be cut off.

RD (Psalm 51:4-5) Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your
sight, so that you may be justified in your word and blameless in your judgment. Behold,
I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.

RD (Psalm 53:1-3) The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, doing
abominable iniquity; there is none who does good. God looks down from heaven on the
children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all
fallen away; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even
one.

RD (Psalm 58:3) The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray from birth,
speaking lies.

SE (Psalm 65:4) Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts!

SE (Psalm 78:70-71) He chose David his servant and took him from the sheepfolds; from
following the nursing ewes he brought him to shepherd Jacob his people, Israel his
inheritance.

PG (Psalm 103:8-12) The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding
in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. He does
not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as
high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who
fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions
from us.

PG (Psalm 103:17) But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting
on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children…

SE (Psalm 105:6) O offspring of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob, his chosen
ones!

SE (Psalm 106:4-5) Remember me, O LORD, when you show favor to your people; help
me when you save them, that I may look upon the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I
may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that I may glory with your inheritance.
PG (Psalm 112:1, 9) Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who
greatly delights in his commandments!... He has distributed freely; he has given to the
poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn is exalted in honor.

PG (Psalm 121:7-8) The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The
LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and
forevermore.

PG (Psalm 125:1-2) Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be
moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds
his people, from this time forth and forevermore.

RD (Psalm 130:3) If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities, O LORD, who could stand?

PG (Psalm 145:20) The LORD preserves all who love him, but all the wicked he will
destroy.

RD (Proverbs 12:12) Whoever is wicked covets the spoil of evildoers, but the root of the
righteous bears fruit.

RD (Proverbs 16:2) All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the LORD
weighs the spirit.

RD (Proverbs 15:28) The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of
the wicked pours out evil things.

RD (Proverbs 20:9) Who can say, “I have made my heart pure; I am clean from my sin.

DR (Proverbs 16:4) The LORD has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for
the day of trouble.

RD (Ecclesiastes 7:20) Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and
never sins.

RD (Ecclesiastes 7:29) See, this alone I found, that God made man upright, but they have
sought out many schemes.

RD (Ecclesiastes 8:11) Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed
speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil.

RD (Ecclesiastes 9:3) Also, the hearts of the children of man are full of evil, and madness
is in their hearts while they live, and after that they go to the dead.

RD (Isaiah 1:5-6) Why will you still be struck down? Why will you continue to rebel?
The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the sole of the foot even to the
head, there is no soundness in it, but bruises and sores and raw wounds; they are not
pressed out or bound up or softened with oil.

RD (Isaiah 6:5) And I said: "Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and
I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the
LORD of hosts!"

DR (Isaiah 6:9-10) And he said, "Go, and say to this people: "'Keep on hearing, but do
not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.' Make the heart of this people dull,
and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their
ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed."

SE (Isaiah 41:8-9) But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the offspring
of Abraham, my friend; you whom I took from the ends of the earth, and called from its
farthest corners, saying to you, "You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you
off"…

RD (Isaiah 42:18-20) Hear, you deaf, and look, you blind, that you may see! Who is blind
but my servant, or deaf as my messenger whom I send? Who is blind as my dedicated
one, or blind as the servant of the LORD? He sees many things, but does not observe
them; his ears are open, but he does not hear.

SE (Isaiah 43:10) "You are my witnesses," declares the LORD, "and my servant whom I
have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me
no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me.

SE (Isaiah 44:1-2) "But now hear, O Jacob my servant, Israel whom I have chosen! Thus
says the LORD who made you, who formed you from the womb and will help you: Fear
not, O Jacob my servant, Jeshurun whom I have chosen.

IC (Isaiah 51:2) Look to Abraham your father and to Sarah who bore you; for he was but
one when I called him.

RD (Isaiah 53:1-3) Who has believed what he has heard from us? And to whom has the
arm of the LORD been revealed? For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like
a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no
beauty that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men; a man of
sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was
despised, and we esteemed him not.

DA (Isaiah 53:4-8) Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we
esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our
transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that
brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned--every one--to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity
of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a
lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he
opened not his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his
generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for
the transgression of my people?

RD (Isaiah 53:6) All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his
own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

DA (Isaiah 53:11-12) Yet it was the will of the LORD to crush him; he has put him to
grief; when his soul makes an offering for sin, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong
his days; the will of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. Out of the anguish of his soul he
shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make
many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore I will divide
him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he
poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin
of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.

IC (Isaiah 55:10-11) For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not
return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower
and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not
return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the
thing for which I sent it.

RD (Isaiah 59:1-3) Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his
ear dull, that it cannot hear; but your iniquities have made a separation between you and
your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear. For your
hands are defiled with blood and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies;
your tongue mutters wickedness.

RD (Isaiah 59:7) Their feet run to evil, and they are swift to shed innocent blood; their
thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; desolation and destruction are in their highways.

RD (Isaiah 59:10) We grope for the wall like the blind; we grope like those who have no
eyes; we stumble at noon as in the twilight, among those in full vigor we are like dead
men.

DR (Isaiah 63:17) O LORD, why do you make us wander from your ways and harden our
heart, so that we fear you not?

RD (Isaiah 64:6-8) We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous
deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind,
take us away. There is no one who calls upon your name, who rouses himself to take hold
of you; for you have hidden your face from us, and have made us melt in the hand of our
iniquities. But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter;
we are all the work of your hand.
IC (Isaiah 66:7-9) "Before she was in labor she gave birth; before her pain came upon her
she delivered a son. Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land
be born in one day? Shall a nation be brought forth in one moment? For as soon as Zion
was in labor she brought forth her children. Shall I bring to the point of birth and not
cause to bring forth?" says the LORD; "shall I, who cause to bring forth, shut the womb?"
says your God.

SE (Jeremiah 1:4-5) Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were
born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.

RD (Jeremiah 3:1) "If a man divorces his wife and she goes from him and becomes
another man's wife, will he return to her? Would not that land be greatly polluted? You
have played the whore with many lovers; and would you return to me? declares the
LORD.

RD (Jeremiah 4:22) "For my people are foolish; they know me not; they are stupid
children; they have no understanding. They are 'wise'--in doing evil! But how to do good
they know not."

RD (Jeremiah 5:21) "Hear this, O foolish and senseless people, who have eyes, but see
not, who have ears, but hear not.

RD (Jeremiah 9:5) Everyone deceives his neighbor, and no one speaks the truth; they
have taught their tongue to speak lies; they weary themselves committing iniquity.

RD (Jeremiah 13:23) Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard his spots? Then
also you can do good who are accustomed to do evil.

RD (Jeremiah 17:9) The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can
understand it?

SE (Jeremiah 18:1-6) The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: "Arise, and go
down to the potter's house, and there I will let you hear my words." So I went down to the
potter's house, and there he was working at his wheel. And the vessel he was making of
clay was spoiled in the potter's hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed
good to the potter to do. Then the word of the LORD came to me: "O house of Israel, can
I not do with you as this potter has done? declares the LORD. Behold, like the clay in the
potter's hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.

IC (Jeremiah 24:7) I will give them a heart to know that I am the LORD, and they shall
be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return to me with their whole heart.

SE/IC (Jeremiah 31:3) I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have
continued my faithfulness to you.
DA/IC (Jeremiah 31:31-34) "Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I
will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the
covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring
them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband,
declares the LORD. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after
those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their
hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each
one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they shall all
know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive
their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."

PG (Jeremiah 32:39-40) I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me
forever, for their own good and the good of their children after them. I will make with
them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I
will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me.

RD (Lamentations 1:8-9) Jerusalem sinned grievously; therefore she became filthy; all
who honored her despise her, for they have seen her nakedness; she herself groans and
turns her face away. Her uncleanness was in her skirts; she took no thought of her future;
therefore her fall is terrible; she has no comforter. "O LORD, behold my affliction, for the
enemy has triumphed!"

PG (Lamentations 3:22-23) The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies
never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

RD (Ezekiel 3:7) But the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, for they are
not willing to listen to me: because all the house of Israel have a hard forehead and a
stubborn heart.

IC (Ezekiel 11:19) And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them.
I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, that they
may walk in my statutes and keep my rules and obey them. And they shall be my people,
and I will be their God.

RD (Ezekiel 16:15-17) "But you trusted in your beauty and played the whore because of
your renown and lavished your whorings on any passerby; your beauty became his. You
took some of your garments and made for yourself colorful shrines, and on them played
the whore. The like has never been, nor ever shall be. You also took your beautiful jewels
of my gold and of my silver, which I had given you, and made for yourself images of
men, and with them played the whore.

IC (Ezekiel 36:25-27, 32) I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from
all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a
new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone
from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and
cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
SE (Ezekiel 36:32) It is not for your sake that I will act, declares the Lord GOD; let that
be known to you…

RD (Hosea 1:2) When the LORD first spoke through Hosea, the LORD said to Hosea,
"Go, take to yourself a wife of whoredom and have children of whoredom, for the land
commits great whoredom by forsaking the LORD."

RD (Hosea 1:3-4, 6, 8-9) So he went and took Gomer, the daughter of Diblaim, and she
conceived and bore him a son. And the LORD said to him, "Call his name Jezreel, for in
just a little while I will punish the house of Jehu for the blood of Jezreel, and I will put an
end to the kingdom of the house of Israel…She conceived again and bore a daughter. And
the LORD said to him, "Call her name No Mercy, for I will no more have mercy on the
house of Israel, to forgive them at all…When she had weaned No Mercy, she conceived
and bore a son. And the LORD said, "Call his name Not My People, for you are not my
people, and I am not your God."

IC (Hosea 2:23) …and I will sow her for myself in the land. And I will have mercy on No
Mercy, and I will say to Not My People, “You are my people”; and he shall say, “You are
my God.”

SE (Hosea 3:1) And the LORD said to me, "Go again, love a woman who is loved by
another man and is an adulteress, even as the LORD loves the children of Israel, though
they turn to other gods and love cakes of raisins."

DR (Hosea 4:17) Ephraim is joined to idols; leave him alone.

DR (Hosea 9:15) Every evil of theirs is in Gilgal; there I began to hate them. Because of
the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of my house. I will love them no
more; all their princes are rebels.

SE (Amos 3:2) You only have I known of all the families of the earth.

IC (Jonah 3:5) And the people of Nineveh believed God. They called for a fast and put on
sackcloth, from the greatest of them to the least of them.

RD (Micah 7:1-4) Woe is me! For I have become as when the summer fruit has been
gathered, as when the grapes have been gleaned: there is no cluster to eat, no first-ripe fig
that my soul desires. The godly has perished from the earth, and there is no one upright
among mankind; they all lie in wait for blood, and each hunts the other with a net. Their
hands are on what is evil, to do it well; the prince and the judge ask for a bribe, and the
great man utters the evil desire of his soul; thus they weave it together. The best of them
is like a brier, the most upright of them a thorn hedge. The day of your watchmen, of your
punishment, has come; now their confusion is at hand.
SE (Nahum 1:7) The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those
who take refuge in him.

SE (Haggai 2:23) On that day, declares the LORD of hosts, I will take you, O Zerubbabel
my servant, the son of Shealtiel, declares the LORD, and make you like a signet ring, for
I have chosen you, declares the LORD of hosts."

IC (Zechariah 12:10) "And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of
Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him
whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and
weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.

(Malachi 1:2-3) “I have loved you,” says the LORD. But you say, “How have you loved
us?” “Is not Esau Jacob’s brother?” declares the LORD. “Yet I have loved Jacob but Esau
I have hated. I have laid waste his hill country and left his heritage to jackals of the
desert.

RD (Matthew 5:21-22, 27-28) You have heard that it was said to those of old, “You shall
not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.” But I say to you that
everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his
brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, “You fool!” will be liable to the
hell of fire…You have heard that it was said, “You shall not commit adultery.” But I say
to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed
adultery with her in his heart.

RD (Matthew 9:12) But when he heard it, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a
physician, but those who are sick.”

DR (Matthew 11:21-24) "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the
mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented
long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I tell you, it will be more bearable on the day of
judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you. And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to
heaven? You will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had
been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I tell you that it will be
more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you." (cf. Luke
10:13-15)

IC (Matthew 11:25-27) I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have
hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children;
yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by
my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father
except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. (cf. Luke 10:21-22)

RD (Matthew 12:34-35) You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are
evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person out of his
good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth
evil. (cf. Luke 6:43-45)

RD/IC (Matthew 13:11-16) And he answered them, "To you it has been given to know
the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For to the one
who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has
not, even what he has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables,
because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.
Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says: "'You will indeed hear
but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive. For this people's heart
has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed,
lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their
heart and turn, and I would heal them.' But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your
ears, for they hear. (cf. Mark 4:11; Luke 8:10)

DR (Matthew 15:13-14) He answered, "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not
planted will be rooted up. Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the
blind, both will fall into a pit."

RD (Matthew 15:16-20) And he said, "Are you also still without understanding? Do you
not see that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled? But
what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out
of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness,
slander. These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile
anyone." (cf. Mark 7:18-23)

IC (Matthew 16:15-17) He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter
replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered him,
“Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but
my Father who is in heaven.”

SE/IC (Matthew 18:12-14) What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of
them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search
of the one that went astray? And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoiced over it more
than over the ninety-nine that never went astray. So it is not the will of my Father who is
in heaven that one of these little ones should perish?

RD/IC (Matthew 19:25-26) When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished,
saying, "Who then can be saved?" But Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is
impossible, but with God all things are possible."

DA (Matthew 20:28) …Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and
to give his life as a ransom for many.

SE (Matthew 22:11-14) But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a
man who had no wedding garment. And he said to him, “Friend, how did you get in here
without a wedding garment?” And he was speechless. Then the king said to the
attendants, “Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place
there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” For many are called, but few are chosen.

RD (Matthew 23:25-26) "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean
the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.
You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also
may be clean. (cf. Luke 11:39-40)

PG (Matthew 24:22) And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be
saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. (cf. Mark 13:20)

PG (Matthew 24:24) For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great
signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. (cf. Mark 13:22)

PG (Matthew 24:31) And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they
will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

DA (Matthew 26:28) …For this is my blood of the covenant, which his poured out for
many for the forgiveness of sins. (cf. Mark 14:24; Luke 22:20)

RD (Mark 4:10-12) And when he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him
about the parables. And he said to them, “To you has been given the secret of the
kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables, so that they may indeed
see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand, lest they should turn and be
forgiven.”

DA (Mark 10:45) For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to
give his life as a ransom for many.

DA (Mark 14:24) This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many.”

RD (Luke 8:10) To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but
for others they are in parables, so that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not
understand.

RD (Luke 8:11-14) Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. The ones along
the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from
their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. And the ones on the rock are those
who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe
for a while, and in time of testing fall away. And as for what fell among the thorns, they
are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches
and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature.

PG (Luke 8:15) As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it
fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.
RD (Luke 14:16-20) But he said to him, A man once gave a great banquet and invited
many. And at the time for the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been
invited, “Come, for everything is now ready.” But they all alike began to make excuses.
The first said to him, “I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please have me
excused.” And another said, “I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them.
Please have me excused.” And another said, “I have married a wife, and therefore I
cannot come.”

IC (Luke 15:4-7) What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them,
does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until
he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he
comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, “Rejoice
with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.” Just so, I tell you, there will be more
joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who
need no repentance.

IC (Luke 15:8-10) Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does
not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it? And when she
has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, “Rejoice with me, for I
have found the coin that I had lost.” Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of
God over one sinner who repents.

RD (Luke 16:30-31) And he said, “No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them
from the dead, they will repent.” He said to him, “If they do not hear Moses and the
Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.”

RD (Luke 19:41) And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, saying,
“Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But
now they are hidden from your eyes. For the days will come upon you, when your
enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every
side and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will
not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your
visitation.”

PG (Luke 22:31-32) "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might
sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you
have turned again, strengthen your brothers."

RD (John 1:10-11) He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the
world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.

SE (John 1:12-13) But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the
right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh
nor the will of man, but of God.
RD (John 2:23-25) Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many believed
in his name when they saw the signs that he was doing. But Jesus on his part did not
entrust himself to them, because he knew all people and needed no one to bear witness
about man, for he himself knew what was in man.

SE/IC (John 3:3, 5-8) Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born
again he cannot see the kingdom of God…” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you,
unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That
which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not
marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and
you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is
with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

PG (John 3:15) …that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

PG (John 3:16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever
believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

RD, DA (John 3:16-21) “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that
whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his
Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved
through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is
condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And
this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness
rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things
hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But
whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works
have been carried out in God.”

RD (John 3:36) Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the
Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

PG (John 4:14) Whoever drinks of the water that I wil give him will never be thirsty
forever.

SE (John 5:21) For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives
life to whom he will.

PG (John 5:24 ) Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who
sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to
life.

IC (John 5:25-29) Truly, Truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the
dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For as the
Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. And he
has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man. Do not
marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice
and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have
done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

SE/IC/PG (John 6:35-40) Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to
me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. But I said to you that
you have seen me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me,
and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not
to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent
me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day.
For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him
should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.

IC (John 6:44-46) No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And
I will raise him up on the last day. It is written in the Prophets, ‘And they will all be
taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me—not
that anyone has seen the Father except he who is from God; he has seen the Father.

PG (John 6:51, 58) I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of
this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is
my flesh…This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers
ate and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.
IC (John 6:63-65) It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that
I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But there are some of you who do not believe…
This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.

IC (John 8:32, 36) …and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free…So if
the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

RD (John 8:34) Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.

RD (John 8:43-47) Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear
to hear my word. You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s
desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth,
because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he
is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. Which
one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? Whoever is
of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not
of God.

SE/IC (John 10:3-5) The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and
leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep
follow him, for they know his voice. A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee
from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.
DA (John 10:11) I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the
sheep.

DA (John 10:14-16) I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just
as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. And
I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to
my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.

DA/IC/PG/DR (John 10:25-30) I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in
my Father’s name bear witness about me, but you do not believe because you are not part
of my flock. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them
eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My
Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them
out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.

PG (John 11:25-26) Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever
believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in
me shall never die. Do you believe this?

DA (John 11:49-52) But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to
them, "You know nothing at all. Nor do you understand that it is better for you that one
man should die for the people, not that the whole nation should perish." He did not say
this of his own accord, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die
for the nation, and not for the nation only, but also to gather into one the children of God
who are scattered abroad..

DA (John 12:32) And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to
myself.

DR (John 12:37-40) Though he had done so many signs before them, they still did not
believe in him, so that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: "Lord,
who has believed what he heard from us, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been
revealed?" Therefore they could not believe. For again Isaiah said, "He has blinded their
eyes and hardened their heart, lest they see with their eyes, and understand with their
heart, and turn, and I would heal them."

SE/DR (John 13:18) I am not speaking of all of you; I know whom I have chosen. But the
Scripture will be fulfilled, “He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.”

SE (John 15:16) You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you
should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the
Father in my name, he may give it to you.

SE (John 15:19) If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but
because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world
hates you.
SE (John 17:1-2, 6, 9, 19) Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may
glorify you, since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all
whom you have given him…I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave
me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your
word…I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you
have given me, for they are yours…And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also
may be sanctified in truth.

SE, PG (John 17:11-12 And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I
am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that
they may be one, even as we are one. While I was with them, I kept them in your name,
which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except
the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

SE/PG (John 17:24-26) Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be
with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me
before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, even though the world does not
know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. I made known to them
your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have
loved me may be in them, and I in them.

RD (Acts 2:22-23) Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to
you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your
midst, as you yourselves know-- this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan
and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.

IC (Acts 2:47) And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being
saved.

RD (Acts 3:14-15) But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer
to be granted to you, and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead.
To this we are witnesses.

IC (Acts 3:16) And his name--by faith in his name--has made this man strong whom you
see and know, and the faith that is through Jesus has given the man this perfect health in
the presence of you all.

IC (Acts 2:39) For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off,
everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.

IC (Acts 5:31) God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance
to Israel and forgiveness of sins. *Repentance: gift of God

RD (Acts 7:51) You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always
resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you.
SE (Acts 9:15) Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the
Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel.

SE (Acts 10:40) …but God raised him on the third day and made him to appear, not to all
the people but to us who had been chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with
him after he rose from the dead.

IC (Acts 11:18) When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God,
saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.”
*Repentance: gift of God

SE (Acts 13:2) Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called
them.

SE (Acts 13:48) And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying
the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.

DR (Acts 14:16) In past generations he allowed all the nations to walk in their own ways.

SE (Acts 14:27) And when they arrived and gathered the church together, they declared
all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.

SE (Acts 15:7) And after there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them,
"Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my
mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe.

IC (Acts 16:14) One who heard us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira,
a seller of purple goods, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to pay
attention to what was said by Paul.

SE, IC (Acts 18:9-10) And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, “Do not be afraid,
but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to
harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.”

IC (Acts 18:27) And when he wished to cross to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and
wrote to the disciples to welcome him. When he arrived, he greatly helped those who
through grace had believed… *Faith: Gift of God

DA (Acts 20:28) Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the
Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained
with his own blood.

SE (Acts 22:14-15) The God of our fathers appointed you to know his will, to see the
Righteous One and to hear a voice from his mouth; for you will be a witness for him to
everyone of what you have seen and heard.
RD (Acts 28:25-28) And disagreeing among themselves, they departed after Paul had
made one statement: "The Holy Spirit was right in saying to your fathers through Isaiah
the prophet: "'Go to this people, and say, You will indeed hear but never understand, and
you will indeed see but never perceive. For this people's heart has grown dull, and with
their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed; lest they should see with
their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would
heal them.' Therefore let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the
Gentiles; they will listen."

IC (Romans 1:5-6) …through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring
about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations, including you
who are called to belong to Jesus Christ…

RD (Romans 1:18-19) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all
ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the
truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to
them.

RD (Romans 1:20-23) For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine
nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that
have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not
honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and
their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and
exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds
and animals and creeping things.

RD (Romans 1:24-25) Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to
impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged
the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the
Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

RD (Romans 1:26-27) For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For
their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the
men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for
one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the
due penalty for their error.

RD (Romans 1:28-32) And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them
up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner
of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife,
deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty,
boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
Though they know God's decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they
not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
RD (Romans 2:5) But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath
for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed.

RD (Romans 3:10-12) None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks
for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good,
not even one.

RD (Romans 3:13-17) "Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive."
"The venom of asps is under their lips." "Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness."
"Their feet are swift to shed blood; in their paths are ruin and misery, and the way of
peace they have not known."

RD (Romans 3:18) “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

DA (Romans 3:21-25) But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from
the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it-- the righteousness of God
through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have
sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through
the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his
blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his
divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.

DA (Romans 4:23-25) But the words "it was counted to him" were not written for his
sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from
the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our
justification.

DA (Romans 5:6-21) For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the
ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person--though perhaps for a good
person one would dare even to die-- but God shows his love for us in that while we were
still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood,
much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were
enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are
reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through
our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Therefore,
just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death
spread to all men because all sinned-- for sin indeed was in the world before the law was
given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. Yet death reigned from Adam to
Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a
type of the one who was to come. But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many
died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by
the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. And the free gift is not like the
result of that one man's sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought
condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification. For if,
because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those
who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life
through the one man Jesus Christ. Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all
men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. For as by the
one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the
many will be made righteous. Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin
increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might
reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

RD (Romans 7:18) For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I
have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out.

RD (Romans 8:5-9) For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the
things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things
of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is
life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not
submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in
you.

SE, DA, IC, PG (Romans 8:27-39) And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind
of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And
we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are
called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be
conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many
brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he
also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. What then shall we say to
these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son
but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to
condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died--more than that, who was raised--who is at
the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the
love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or
danger, or sword? As it is written, "For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we
are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than
conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor
angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ
Jesus our Lord.

SE, IC, DR (Romans 9:10-24) And not only so, but also when Rebekah had conceived
children by one man, our forefather Isaac, though they were not yet born and had done
nothing either good or bad--in order that God's purpose of election might continue, not
because of works but because of him who calls-- she was told, "The older will serve the
younger." As it is written, "Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated." What shall we say then? Is
there injustice on God's part? By no means! For he says to Moses, "I will have mercy on
whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion." So then it
depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy. For the Scripture
says to Pharaoh, "For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power
in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth." So then he has mercy on
whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills. You will say to me then, "Why
does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?" But who are you, O man, to answer
back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, "Why have you made me like this?"
Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for
honorable use and another for dishonorable use? What if God, desiring to show his wrath
and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared
for destruction, in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy,
which he has prepared beforehand for glory-- even us whom he has called, not from the
Jews only but also from the Gentiles?

SE (Romans 11:5-6) So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. But if
it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be
grace.

SE, DR (Romans 11:7) What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect
obtained it, but the rest were hardened, as it is written, "God gave them a spirit of stupor,
eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, down to this very day." And David
says, "Let their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for
them; let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and bend their backs forever."
(Rom 11:7-10)

DR (Romans 11:8) God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that
would not hear, down to this very day.

IC (Romans 12:3) For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think
of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each
according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. *Faith: Gift of God

RD (Romans 14:23) For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.

IC (1 Corinthians 1:1) Paul, called by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and
our brother Sosthenes…

IC (1 Corinthians 1:2) To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in

Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the
name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours…

IC, PG (1 Corinthians 1:7-9) …wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will
sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by
whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

RD, DA, IC (1 Corinthians 1:18-25) For the word of the cross is folly to those who are
perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written, "I will
destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart."
Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has
not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the
world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we
preach to save those who believe. For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but
we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those
who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than
men.

SE, IC (1 Corinthians 1:26-29) For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were
wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble
birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is
weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world,
even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might
boast in the presence of God.

DA, IC (1 Corinthians 1:30-31) And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became
to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is
written, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord."

DA (1 Corinthians 2:6-8) Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a
wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. But we
impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our
glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have
crucified the Lord of glory.

RD (1 Corinthians 2:14) The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of
God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are
spiritually discerned.

IC (1 Corinthians 2:15-16) The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be
judged by no one. "For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?"
But we have the mind of Christ.

IC (1 Corinthians 12:3) Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be
uninformed. You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols,
however you were led. Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the
Spirit of God ever says "Jesus is accursed!" and no one can say "Jesus is Lord" except in
the Holy Spirit.

PG (1 Corinthians 3:13-15) each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will
disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each
one has done. If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive
a reward. If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be
saved, but only as through fire.
DA (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also
received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was
buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures…

PG (2 Corinthians 1:21-22) And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has
anointed us, and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a
guarantee.

RD (2 Corinthians 3:14) But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read
the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken
away.

RD (2 Corinthians 4:3-4) And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who
are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers,
to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image
of God.

IC (2 Corinthians 4:6) For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in
our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus
Christ.

PG (2 Corinthians 4:8-10, 14) We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed,
but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;
always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be
manifested in our bodies…knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also
with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence.

PG (2 Corinthians 4:17-5:5) For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an

eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen
but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things
that are unseen are eternal. For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is
destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the
heavens. For in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly dwelling, if indeed by
putting it on we may not be found naked. For while we are still in this tent, we groan,
being burdened--not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so
that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. He who has prepared us for this very
thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.

DA (2 Corinthians 5:14-15) For the love of Christ controls us, because we have
concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that
those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died
and was raised.

IC (2 Corinthians 5:17-18) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old

has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ
reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation…
DA (2 Corinthians 5:19) …in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not
counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

DA (2 Corinthians 5:21) For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in
him we might become the righteousness of God.

DA (2 Corinthians 8:9) For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he
was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become
rich.

RD, DA (Galatians 1:3-5) Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord
Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age,
according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever.
Amen.

SE, IC (Galatians 1:15-16) But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who
called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach
him among the Gentiles…

DA (Galatians 3:13) Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse
for us--for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree…”

RD (Galatians 5:19-21) Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality,
impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries,
dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I
warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

SE, DA, PG (Ephesians 1:3-6) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as
he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and
blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ,
according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has
blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness
of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all
wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his
purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things
in him, things in heaven and things on earth. In him we have obtained an inheritance,
having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according
to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the
praise of his glory.

PG (Ephesians 1:13-14) In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of
your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is
the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his
glory.
RD (Ephesians 2:1-3) And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once
walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air,
the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience-- among whom we all once lived
in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were
by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

PG (Ephesians 2:4-7) But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which
he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with
Christ--by grace you have been saved-- and raised us up with him and seated us with him
in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the
immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

IC (Ephesians 2:8-9) For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not
your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
*Faith: Gift of God

DA (Ephesians 2:13-18) But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been
brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made us both
one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law
of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man
in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body
through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. And he came and preached peace to you
who were far off and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access
in one Spirit to the Father.

DA (Ephesians 3:8-12) To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was
given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to bring to light for
everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things,
so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the
rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was according to the eternal purpose
that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with
confidence through our faith in him.

IC (Ephesians 4:1) I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner
worthy of the calling to which you have been called…

RD (Ephesians 4:17-19) Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer
walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their
understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them,
due to their hardness of heart. They have become callous and have given themselves up
to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity.

RD (Ephesians 4:22-24) …put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of
life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and
holiness.

PG (Ephesians 4:30) And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed
for the day of redemption.

DA (Ephesians 5:2) And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a
fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

RD (Ephesians 5:5-6) For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral
or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of
Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things
the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

DA (Ephesians 5:25-27) Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave
himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of
water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without
spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.

PG (Philippians 1:6) And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will
bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

IC (Philippians 1:29) For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should
not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake… *Faith: Gift of God

(Philippians 2:12-13) Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not
only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with
fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good
pleasure.

PG (Philippians 3:20-21) But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior,
the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by
the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

RD (Colossians 1:21-22) And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing
evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present
you holy and blameless and above reproach before him…

DA, IC (Colossians 2:11-14) In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made
without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, having
been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in
the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. And you, who were dead in
your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him,
having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us
with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.
SE (Colossians 3:12) Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion,
kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.

SE, IC (1 Thessalonians 1:4-5) For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen
you, because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy
Spirit and with full conviction.

PG (1 Thessalonians 1:9-10) For they themselves report concerning us the kind of

reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living
and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus
who delivers us from the wrath to come.

IC, PG (1 Thessalonians 2:12) …we exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and
charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and
glory.

PG (1 Thessalonians 2:19-20) For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before
our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you? For you are our glory and joy.

PG (1 Thessalonians 3:11-13) Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus,
direct our way to you, and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one
another and for all, as we do for you, so that he may establish your hearts blameless in
holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

RD, PG (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5) For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you
abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body
in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God…

PG (1 Thessalonians 4:14-17) For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even
so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we
declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the
coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself
will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and
with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who
are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the
Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

SE, DA, PG (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10) For God has not destined us for wrath, but to
obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are
awake or asleep we might live with him.

PG (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24) Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you
completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming
of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.
IC (2 Thessalonians 1:11) To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make
you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith
by his power…

RD, DR (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12) The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of
Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those
who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God
sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may
be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

SE, IC (2 Thessalonians 2:13-14) But we ought always to give thanks to God for you,
brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved,
through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. To this he called you through
our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

DA, PG (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17) Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our
Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort
your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.

RD (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2) Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may
speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you, and that we may be delivered from
wicked and evil men. For not all have faith.

PG (2 Thessalonians 3:3-5) But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you
against the evil one. And we have confidence in the Lord about you, that you are doing
and will do the things that we command. May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of
God and to the steadfastness of Christ.

DA (1 Timothy 2:1-6) First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that
we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and
it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to
come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator
between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which
is the testimony given at the proper time.
DA (1 Timothy 4:10) For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on
the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.

RD (1 Timothy 6:3-5) If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the
sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is
puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for
controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil
suspicions, and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of
the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.
IC (1 Timothy 1:12-14) I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord,
because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service, though formerly I was a
blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted
ignorantly in unbelief, and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and
love that are in Christ Jesus. *Faith: Gift of God

SE, DA, IC (2 Timothy 1:8-9) Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our
Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God,
who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his
own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, and
which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who
abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

PG (2 Timothy 1:12) But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am
convinced that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me.

SE (2 Timothy 2:10) Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also
may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

PG (2 Timothy 2:19) But God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: "The Lord
knows those who are his," and, "Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart
from iniquity."

RD, IC (2 Timothy 2:24-26) And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to
everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness.
God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they
may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by
him to do his will. *Repentance: Gift of God

RD (2 Timothy 3:1-5) But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of
difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive,
disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous,
without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit,
lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but
denying its power. Avoid such people.

PG (2 Timothy 4:8) Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which
the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also
to all who have loved his appearing.

DA, IC (Titus 1:1-3) Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the sake of
the faith of God's elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness, in
hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began and at
the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been
entrusted by the command of God our Savior… *Faith: Gift of God
DA (Titus 2:11) For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people.

DA (Titus 2:13-14) …waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our
great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all
lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for
good works.

RD (Titus 3:3) For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to
various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and
hating one another.

PG (Titus 3:5-7) …he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but
according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy
Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being
justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

RD (Hebrews 2:1) Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard,
lest we drift away from it.

SE, DA (Hebrews 2:9-17But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the
angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so
that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. For it was fitting that he, for
whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the
founder of their salvation perfect through suffering. For he who sanctifies and those who
are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers,
saying, "I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will
sing your praise." And again, "I will put my trust in him." And again, "Behold, I and the
children God has given me." Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he
himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one
who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of
death were subject to lifelong slavery. For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he
helps the offspring of Abraham. Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every
respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God,
to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

IC (Hebrews 3:1) Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider
Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession.

PG (Hebrews 3:6) …but Christ is faithful over God's house as a son. And we are his
house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.

RD (Hebrews 3:7-13) Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, "Today, if you hear his voice, do
not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, where
your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years. Therefore I was
provoked with that generation, and said, 'They always go astray in their heart; they have
not known my ways.' As I swore in my wrath, 'They shall not enter my rest.'" Take care,
brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away
from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today," that
none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

PG (Hebrews 3:14) For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original
confidence firm to the end.

DA (Hebrews 5:9) And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to
all who obey him…

RD (Hebrews 5:11-12) About this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since
you have become dull of hearing. For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you
need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need
milk, not solid food,

RD (Hebrews 6:4-6) For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been
enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and
have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then
have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once
again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.

PG (Hebrews 6:19-20) We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that
enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our
behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

PG (Hebrews 7:25) Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near
to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

DA (Hebrews 7:27) He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first
for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he
offered up himself.

DA (Hebrews 9:27-28) And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that
comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will
appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for
him.

RD (Hebrews 10:26-29) For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the

knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful
expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone
who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three
witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who
has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was
sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?
RD (Hebrews 11:6) And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would
draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

IC (Hebrews 12:1-2) Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,

let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with
endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our
faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and
is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. *Faith: Gift of God

PG (Hebrews 12:6-7) For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son
whom he receives." It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as
sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?

RD (Hebrews 12:25-29) See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For if they did
not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if
we reject him who warns from heaven. At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he
has promised, "Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens." This
phrase, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of things that are shaken--that is, things
that have been made--in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain.
Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us
offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming
fire.

DA (Hebrews 13:12) So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the
people through his own blood.

PG (Hebrews 13:20) Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our
Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant…

PG (James 1:12) Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has
stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who
love him.

RD (James 1:13-15) Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God,"
for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is
tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has
conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

IC (James 1:18) Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should
be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

RD (James 1:19-21) Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear,
slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of
God. Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with
meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
RD (James 1:22-24) But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving
yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who
looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at
once forgets what he was like.

RD (James 1:26) If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but
deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless.

SE (James 2:5) Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in
the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those
who love him?

RD (James 2:14) What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not
have works? Can that faith save him?

RD (James 3:14-16) But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts,
do not boast and be false to the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from
above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist,
there will be disorder and every vile practice.

RD (James 4:4) You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world
is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself
an enemy of God.

RD (James 4:13-17) Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go into such
and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit"-- yet you do not
know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a
little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and
do this or that." As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So
whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.

RD (James 5:1-6) Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming
upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and
silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your
flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days. Behold, the wages of the
laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against
you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. You have
lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in a day
of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered the righteous person. He does not resist
you.

SE, IC (1 Peter 1:1-2) Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who are elect exiles of
the dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithyni, according to the
foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to
Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: May grace and peace be multiplied to you.
IC (1 Peter 1:3, 23) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to
his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…since you have been born again, not of
perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God…

PG (1 Peter 1:3-5) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to
his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable,
undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded
through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

PG (1 Peter 1:8-9) Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now
see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with
glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

IC (1 Peter 1:15) As he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct.

DA (1 Peter 1:18-19) …knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited
from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the
precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.

DA (1 Peter 1:20-21) He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was
made manifest in the last times for the sake of you who through him are believers in God,
who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

DA (1 Peter 2:4) You come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God
chosen and precious.

DR (1 Peter 2:8) They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to
do.

RD, SE, IC (1 Peter 2:9-10) But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who
called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now
you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received
mercy.

IC (1 Peter 2:21) For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you,
leaving you an example, so that you might follow in His steps.

DA (1 Peter 2:24) He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to
sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

RD (1 Peter 2:25) For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the
Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
IC (1 Peter 3:9) Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary,
bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.

DA (1 Peter 3:18) For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the
unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive
in the spirit…

RD (1 Peter 4:3-4) For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to
do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless
idolatry. With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same
flood of debauchery, and they malign you…

IC, PG (1 Peter 5:10) And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who
has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and
establish you.

IC (2 Peter 1:1) Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have
obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior
Jesus Christ. *Greek behind “obtained” means “to receive by divine will.”

IC (2 Peter 1:3) His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and
godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and
excellence…

SE/IC/PG (2 Peter 1:10) Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling
and election sure. For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into
the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

RD (2 Peter 2:1-3) But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be
false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying
the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will
follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in
their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is
not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

RD (2 Peter 2:10) …and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and
despise authority. Bold and willful, they do not tremble as they blaspheme the glorious
ones…

RD (2 Peter 2:12) But these, like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to be
caught and destroyed, blaspheming about matters of which they are ignorant, will also be
destroyed in their destruction…

IC (2 Peter 3:9) The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is
patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach
repentance.
RD (1 John 1:6) If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we
lie and do not practice the truth.

RD (1 John 1:8-10) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in
us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word
is not in us.

DA (1 John 2:1-2) My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not
sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the
righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of
the whole world.

RD (1 John 2:4) Whoever says "I know him" but does not keep his commandments is a
liar, and the truth is not in him…

RD (1 John 2:9-11) Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in
darkness. Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for
stumbling. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness,
and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

RD (1 John 2:15-17) Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the
world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world--the desires of the
flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions--is not from the Father but is
from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does
the will of God abides forever.

RD (1 John 2:19) They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of
us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that
they all are not of us.

IC (1 John 2:29) If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who
practices righteousness has been born of him.

DA (1 John 3:5) You know that he appeared to take away [the] sins, and in him there is
no sin.

RD, DA, IC (1 John 3:8-10) Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the
devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to
destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's
seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God. By
this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil:
whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love
his brother.
RD (1 John 3:17-18) But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet
closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not
love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

RD (1 John 4:5-6) They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the
world listens to them. We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is
not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of
error.

RD, IC (1 John 4:7-8) Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and
whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not
know God, because God is love.

DA (1 John 4:10) In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent
his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

RD (1 John 4:20) If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he
who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

IC (1 John 5:1) Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and
everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him.

IC (1 John 5:4-5) For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this
is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world
except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

PG (1 John 5:11) And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in
his Son.

IC, PG (1 John 5:18) We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on
sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.

RD (1 John 5:19) We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power
of the evil one.

SE (2 John 1) The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not
only I, but also all who know the truth…

SE (2 John 13) The children of your elect sister greet you.

IC, PG (Jude 1) To those who are called, beloved in God the Father and kept for Jesus
Christ…

DR (Jude 4) For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for
this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and
deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
PG (Jude 24-25) Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you
blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior,
through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time
and now and forever. Amen.

DA (Revelation 1:4-6) John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and
peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who
are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead,
and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his
blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and
dominion forever and ever. Amen.

RD (Revelation 1:9) I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation and the kingdom
and the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos on account of
the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

PG (Revelation 2:7) To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which
is in the paradise of God.

PG (Revelation 2:11) …The one who conquers will not be hurt by the second death.

PG (Revelation 3:5) The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I
will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father
and before his angels.

PG (Revelation 3:12) The one who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my
God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the
name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down from my God out of
heaven, and my own new name.

DA (Revelation 5:9) And they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are you to take the scroll
and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation…

PG (Revelation 7:2-4) Then I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun,
with the seal of the living God, and he called with a loud voice to the four angels who had
been given power to harm earth and sea, saying, "Do not harm the earth or the sea or the
trees, until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads." And I heard the
number of the sealed, 144,000, sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel…

SE, DA (Revelation 13:8) and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose
name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the
Lamb who was slain.
DA (Revelation 14:4) It is these who have not defiled themselves with women, for they
are virgins. It is these who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These have been redeemed
from mankind as firstfruits for God and the Lamb…

SE (Revelation 17:8) The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to rise from the
bottomless pit and go to destruction. And the dwellers on earth whose names have not
been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel to see the
beast, because it was and is not and is to come.

SE, IC (Revelation 17:14) They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer
them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen
and faithful."
