OPORD Week 3: 04 SEP 08 – 11 SEP 08

Task Organization: 2nd Platoon

SITUATION:
a. Weather/light data: TBA
b. Terrain: no significant effects on maneuver or training
c. Enemy forces: none
d. Friendly forces:

(1) Mission of Higher Headquarters: 2nd Platoon conducts garrison operations


from 040001SEP08 to 112400SEP08 in order to ensure all cadets meet commissioning
requirements, to ensure all cadets meet and maintain physical fitness levels, and prepare
MS III cadets for Leadership Development and Assessment Course (LDAC) June-August
2009.

(2) Right Unit: 1nd Platoon conducts garrison operations, classroom instruction
IAW the BOLC I MOI, training schedules and commander’s guidance in order to prepare
all cadets to meet commissioning requirements and prepare MS III’s for LDAC.

(3) Other friendly forces include Cadre and MS IV cadets located in Bldg 47A.

e. Attachments and Detachments: Ranger Challenge team (-) will be detached M,W,F
0600-0730 for PT.

MISSION:

2nd Platoon conducts PT, Leadership Lab, and classroom instruction IAW BOLC I MOI,
instructors syllabi and commanders guidance from 040001SEP08 to 112400SEP08
vicinity of Bldg 47A and the NAU Sky Dome in order to ensure cadets are able to meet
and maintain Army physical fitness standards, develop leadership potential, and prepare
cadets to meet scholarship, contracting, and commissioning requirements.

EXECUTION:

Commanders Intent:
MS III cadets will develop skills necessary to train MS I and MS II cadets to
perform basic soldier skills and increase physical fitness levels, while developing their
own leadership potential and skills, MS IV cadets are to perform functions of the
Battalion Staff and duties of the Company Commander and 1SGT.

a. Concept of Operation:
Operation will be conducted in three phases:
Phase I- PT 03&050615-0730SEP08
Phase II: MS I-IV classes
Phase III: Lead Lab on 041530SEP08
Scheme of Maneuver:
Phase I: 2nd Platoon. will assemble at the NAU Sky Dome NLT 0615 for
accountability and will conduct PT from 0620-0710 on 03SEP08 and
05SEP08.

Phase II: 2nd Platoon will conduct MS I – IV classes throughout the week
as per syllabi.

Phase III: 2nd Platoon will assemble at SBS WEST Rm @200


111530SEP08 for accountability and will conduct Lead Lab (Land
Navigation) from 1530-1700.

(1) Fires: None


(2) Engineer Support: None

b. Specific Instructions:
PL and PSG- Develops plan to accomplish the following tasks for 111530-
1700SEP08:
(a) Land Navigation (See SMI for specifies)
(b) Complete LDR books
(c) Cadets will need to know the Soldiers Creed

c. Coordinating Instructions
(1) Time schedule for critical events:
a. 080615SEP08 – PT
b. 111530SEP08 – Lead Lab
c. 100615SEP08 – PT

(2) Normal PT Time Schedule:


0615-0620 – Accountability Formation
0620-0710 – Conduct PT
0710-0715 – Dismissal
Do not hold students for cadets related information.

(3) MS I-IV Classes: Conducted IAW Syllabi

(4) Lead Lab 11SEP08 time schedule:


1530-1535 Accountability
1535-1600 Land Navigation
1655-1700 Recall formation

d. Uniform for Lead Lab: ACU

e. Uniform for MS class: ACU


f. Accountability will be maintained prior to movement to and from all training events;
accountability will be maintained by PSGs at all times.

g. S-1 is responsible for keeping accountability archive and reporting to SMI

h. Safety- Safety will be emphasized throughout all phases of training. Ensure cadets are
adequately hydrated prior to all training events and have eye protection for use during
outside training.

SERVICE AND SUPPORT

a. Casualty collection point for PT will be near stretching area and Bldg 47A for Lead
Lab.

b. Materials and Services


Class I- Two full canteens
Class II- ACUs, LBV, IPFU

c. Miscellaneous

(1) Cadets from each MS class may be individually called out to recite the
soldier’s creed, cadets creed, or Army song so ensure they are prepared to do
so.

COMMAND AND SIGNAL

a. Command
(1) Cadre (red PT belt) will be will focus groups during PT, at all other times; MS
IVs (orange PT belts) will be with a PT focus group, at lead lab location, or in bldg 47A.

(2) Chain of Command is CDT SL, CDT PSG, CDT PL, then MSG McClintion.
