2011 BC Junior Provincial Championships

Participation in this Outdoor Provincial Championship is a requirement for selection to Provincial Teams
representing BC at Junior Outdoor Nationals. Players are expected to compete in their correct age category.

Boys Singles: U10, U12, U14, U16, U18


Boys Doubles: U14, U18
Girls Singles: U10, U12, U14, U16, U18
Girls Doubles: U14, U18

Registration Fee
Singles: $55 + HST
Doubles: $15pp + HST

Player Dinner (included with entry fee) on Wednesday June 29th from 5PM to 8PM. Additional tickets ($25)
may be purchased from the tournament desk on Wednesday June 29th.

Location: Jericho Tennis Club, 3837 Point Grey Rd, Vancouver, BC

Jericho Tennis Club has an "ALL WHITES" dress code (not more than 20% color), with the exception of shoes,
hats & warm up suits. CELL PHONE USAGE IS NOT PERMITTED ON THE PROPERTY - please be respectful of our
host club's rules

Entries close Friday June 24th. Draws posted by NOON Tuesday June 28th. Out-of-town players will not be
expected to play until Thursday June 29th.

ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY:


• All entries are subject to approval of the Tournament Committee. Entry fees must be paid at time of
registration. Refunds will not be issued once the draw has been made.
• BC entrants must hold a valid 2011Tennis BC Membership.
• In order to compete in an age group, players must be in the given age category as of January 1, 2011.

PLAY:
• All matches will be governed by the Rules of Tennis, and players are expected to abide by the Code of
Conduct as set out by Tennis Canada.
• All singles matches will be the best of three tie-break sets, and will offer first match consolations as well as
play-offs for the final 8 players in each category. Doubles matches will utilize a 10-point tiebreaker in lieu of a
third-set. Alternate formats may be used in order to complete events within the scheduled time frame.
Matches may be
played indoors, under lights, on various surfaces, or at supplemental sites
• Under 10 Events will play on Full Courts with Easy Play balls.
• A maximum of five (5) minutes warm-up will be enforced.
• All decisions of the Tournament Referee will be final.

SCHEDULING:
• Players are expected to be dressed and ready to play 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time. Lateness
penalties, including default after 15 minutes, may be enforced.

CODE OF ETHICS FOR PLAYERS, PARENTS & COACHES


• Players are expected to know and understand the Rules of Tennis and the Code of Conduct.
• Players ONLY may request the assistance of the Referee or Roving Umpires.
• Players, or any persons associated with a player (i.e. parents, coaches, friends or family) are expected to
give due respect to the Host Clubs, their Members, Officials, other players and any other persons associated
with the tournament.
• Misconduct, whether on or off the court, will result in penalties against the player. Tennis BC has a no-
tolerance policy towards abusive or inappropriate behaviour
