HR Data Warehouse for Ford Motor Company Jan 2001 – July 2001

ROLE: OLAP Analyst & Developer

In Ford Motor Company, HR Data Warehouse is responsible for fulfilling all reporting
requirements for HR User Community. The Data Warehouse is populated on daily basis from
underlying OLTP Application (PeopleSoft ERP) Using ETC Methods (Extraction, Transformation
& Loading Methods) written in PL/SQL. This ETC Job was run on daily basis to feed data to Data
Warehouse.
Business Objects is used by vast HR User Community spread across 4 Countries for generating
reports, doing ad-hoc queries and for receiving scheduled reports. The reports are refreshed
every few minutes in order to provide the desired information to the Top Management and
different user communities.
For some external system belonging to Non-Ford Agencies, data feeds are being sent on a
regular basis due to business requirements. These Data feeds were generated from HR Data
warehouse using PL/SQL.

STOCK WATCH SYSTEM for Stock Exchanges Oct 2000 – Dec 2000

ROLE: OLAP Analyst & Developer

Stock Watch System is an online surveillance and monitoring system that has been developed
using Business Objects 5.0 and Oracle 8 for the Stock Exchange. The reports are being
generated in Business Objects and are refreshed every few minutes in order to study the current
trends of the market. It facilitates users to do ad hoc reporting. Responsibilities included Universe
design, designing of Reports in BO User Module and publishing reports using Web Intelligence.

Data Warehouse for Passenger Reservation System, Indian Oct’ 1999 – Sept ’ 2000
Railways, India

ROLE : Data Modeler & Senior Systems Analyst

For the analysis requirements of Railway Board, Indian Railways on the subject of Earnings,
Booked passengers, waiting passengers and quota utilization, a data warehouse was built using
the data generated by the current Passenger Reservation System (PRS). Reports were built
(using the OLAP tool) to see the current and past trends and thus helping the Railway Board to
plan effectively for the optimum quota utilization and thus improve service.

ROLE: Data Modeler & Senior Systems Analyst

The UP Trade Tax Department is the largest revenue department of UP State Government. It
does so by imposing and collecting sales tax on all the sales & purchase transactions done by
dealers. For this Department defines the sales tax rates for all the possible commodities. The
department maintains the database for registered dealers, dealer classifications, the commodities

they deal into, returns filed along with their sales & purchase details etc. The data warehouse
was built to help the top-management and policy-makers of the department to perform all types
of analysis. The data warehouse enabled the top-management to discover the trends in sales &
purchase of different commodities sectors across the financial year. It also enabled the
department to find out the major commodities and dealer categories responsible for bringing the
major chunk of revenue to the department. The discovery of such trends helped the top-
management to define and design policies, which would help department in increasing their
revenue collection and to define the strategy for sensitive commodities and dealer groups.

The scope of the project consists of 20 modules. This Application Software was a 2-tier
Client/Server Application using distributed database technology.

 Executed by CMC Limited for UP Trade Tax Department ( An UP State Govt. Agency).
 Led the project team from Design phase to implementation stage.
 Shouldered the project management responsibilities i.e. Man-power Planning, Resource
Allocation & Planning, Customer Interaction etc. for few months.
