Association activities during January 2006 to June 2006

 Civil Engineering association has conducted an “International conference on

Infrastructure Development of expansive Soils- INDEX -06”, on 01-03

February, 2006. Prof. N.Subha Narasaiah, University of Sherbrooke, Canada
inaugurated the conference and Prof. G.Venkatachalam, I.I.T, Mumbai delivered
the valedictory address.
  Civil Engineering Association organized National Level students symposium

TECHNO QUEST – GAZEBO on March 2006.

 Interdepartmental paper presentation was conducted by Civil engineering

association on “Preparedness of Technology towards Earthquake-Resilient

India”, on 12th April, 2006.
 Civil Engineering Association Valedictory function was held on 11th April, 2006,

Mr. Balasubramaniam, Assistant Engineer, TWAD Board, Erode has delivered

the valedictory address.

1. Prof.S.Suresh Babu presented a paper titled “Rheological Dampers for seismic
Hazards Mitigation – A Quasi Static model Analysis of Dampers” in an
International Conference on Infrastructure Development on Expansive Soils
organized by Erode Sengunthar Engineering College from 1 – 3rd February, 2006.
2. Prof.S.Suresh Babu and Miss G.Shyamala presented a paper titled “Assessing and
Reducing Earthquake impacts” in an International Conference on Infrastructure
Development on Expansive Soils organized by Erode Sengunthar Engineering
College from 1 – 3rd February, 2006.
3. Mr.N.Rajkumar and S.Gowri published a paper titled “Identification of Sulfide
Oxidizing Bacterial species from Sewage – Beggiatoa Species” in Nature
Environment and Pollution Technology Journal, March 2006.

4. Mr.N.Rajkumar presented a paper titled “Advanced Oxidation technology –

Biological Sulfide Oxidation” in an International Conference on Infrastructure
Development on Expansive Soils organized by Erode Sengunthar Engineering
College from 1 – 3rd February, 2006.

5. Miss S.Gowri presented a paper tilted “Experimental Investigation on Plastic

Mixed Concrete in Compression members” in an International Conference on
Infrastructure Development on Expansive Soils organized by Erode Sengunthar
Engineering College from 1 – 3rd February, 2006.
6. Mr.T.V.Vijayaraghavan and Mr.D.Sathieskumar presented a paper titled “Behaviour
of Steel Fibre Reinforced Concrete Members Subjected to Combined Bending
and Torsion” in an International Conference on Infrastructure Development on
 Expansive Soils organized by Erode Sengunthar Engineering College from 1 – 3 rd
February, 2006.
