PREPARATION:
Carefully lay out all hardware and parts. Check quantities and match to Hardware Bag & Carton Parts Lists. If a part is missing or broken
contact your dealer or Legacy, 812/ 883-3111, (FAX 812-883-1819), http://www.childcraftind.com, for a replacement part or instructional
literature. Before contacting identify your crib. Identification numbers are stamped on the underneath edge of bottom rail of Footboard M ,
Headboard L , crib side O or N or stamped on a label attached to the inside face of Footboard M bottom rail. Record the complete
model identification number now: #__________________. DO NOT SUBSTITUTE PARTS!

STEP 1- DIAGRAM 1: HARDWARE APPLICATION TO HEADBOARD Lay Footboard M and Headboard L down horizontally, (outside

& FOOTBOARD AND ATTACH STATIONARY SIDE. a Flathead Machine Screw B as shown to Footboard M . Note:
use hand screwdriver not battery or electric driver. Tighten but do not overtighten. (Overtightening can cause the Upper Guide Bushing C to
compress down.) The Upper Guide Bushing C must slide freely in groove of the metal track attached to the ends of Dropside O . At this time read
and understand Diagram 4 before proceeding. Test to see that the metal top track will slide freely over Upper Guide Bushing C , if not loosen Flathead
Machine Screw B until the metal top track slides freely, but make sure Upper Guide Bushing C is securely attached. Insert a Lower Guide Pin D
into its receiving hole located on inside face of Footboard M exactly as shown. Follow the same procedure to install the remaining Upper Guide
Bushing C and the Lower Guide Pin D to Headboard L . Lower Guide Pins D will remain loose in their receiving holes. Follow Diagram 1 exactly
for installing Wood Drawer Rail M M and Drawer Cabinet Rail-Right J J to Footboard M using (3) Flathead Phillips Wood Screws B B. Follow
this same process for installing Wood Drawer Rail M M and Drawer Cabinet Rail-Left K K to Headboard L using (3) Flathead Phillips Wood Screws

to be fully inserted into its receiving hole. (Note: it may be necessary to loosen one of the lower bolts G which were installed during Step 1). Loosening
one of the lower bolts G will allow the Stretcher Y to move easier into its proper location. Take care to tighten securely any bolt loosened after
the completion of this step. Install the other Stretcher Y to Headboard L following the same process.

STEP 3 - DIAGRAM 3: ATTACH SPRING TO STRETCHERS IN CRIB
to select a spring height position and to attach
1 . Decide on your preference of height placement of Spring Spring P to Stretchers Y .
P . You have three position choices, highest, middle and
lowest holes in Spring P as shown. After you select your
highest position
height, attach one end of the long end of Scissor Arm
Assembly to Spring P by first inserting an Allenhead Bolt Smooth side
H through selected position hole in Spring P then through of Spring P
one end of Scissor Arm Assembly, add a Nut Z exactly as Scissor Arm
is the top assembly
shown. Repeat this procedure until one end of each of the
(4) Scissor Arm Assemblies is attached to Spring P at the
same height position. Tighten all (4) Allenhead Bolts H while
holding Nuts Z with a 10mm or adjustable wrench. Tighten
each assembly securely.

2 . Carefully lift Spring P into the crib. Spring P will attach

to the outside holes in the two installed Stretchers Y . Insert
an Allenhead Bolt H first through the remaining long end of middle position
the Scissor Arm Assembly into the threaded insert as lowest position
shown and follow the procedure exactly. Repeat the
procedure with the remaining (3) long ends of the Scissor
Arm Assemblies to Stretcher Y . Tighten each assembly Z
securely.
Mount Nut Z on
opposite end as shown
3 . Whenever you decide on another height position first
remove the crib mattress. Remove Spring P by detaching
Y H
the spring from the Stretchers Y by loosening and removing
the (4) Allenhead Bolts H installed in 2 . above using Allen
Wrench A . Carefully lift the spring from the crib. Make your
selected height position change by following 1 . of this Step. NOTE: CRIB IS DELEATED FROM THIS DIAGRAM

Flex the bottom end of the corner post on the Dropside side of Footboard M Metal Top Track
away from the Dropside O . The purpose of this process is to create a gap
for the Lower Guide Pins D to pass through so that the Lower Guide Pins IV. ENLARGED VIEW
can be inserted into the long groove of the plastic Lower Tracks. As you
prepare to accomplish this please note the following:
If the Stretcher Assembly Y was not loosened enough (as described in
PREPARATION FOR INSTALLATION OF DROPSIDE in the beginning of
this step) there will not be enough slack to create the necessary gap required
for the Lower Guide Pin D to pass through. Prematurely forcing the pin O C M
through a gap with inadequate clearance could damage the finish on the
Dropside O . If your crib has too small of a gap, then lower Dropside O to its
lowest position and check to verify that preparation at beginning of Step 4
was performed correctly. O
If it was performed correctly, but the gap is still too small, it may be because
the Stretcher Y assembly needs to be pulled away from the bottom rails of
the Footboard M or Headboard L . Check to verify that the Stretchers Y
have been pulled away from the bottom rails.

the Dropside are locked in the raised position when child is placed in crib. Only lower Dropside when attending to child.
•MAINTENANCE OF YOUR LEGACY CRIB: Upon completion of assembly be sure screws and bolts (fastening devices) are tightened securely. A periodic
check should be made of fastening devices and tighten if needed. Before each usage or assembly, inspect crib for damaged hardware, loose joints,
missing parts or sharp edges. DO NOT use crib if parts are missing or broken. Ask your Dealer or LEGACY (812/ 883-3111), service@childcraftind.com
for replacement parts and instructional literature if needed. Include Model Identification Number with your request which you recorded on page 1. DO NOT
substitute parts. DO NOT make any alteration to this crib.
•CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR LEGACY CRIB: Mix together a mild solution of gentle dishwashing liquid and water, apply to crib surface using
a soft clean cloth lightly dampened in the solution. Rinse with clear water again using a soft clean cloth then dry all surfaces thoroughly with a soft dry
cloth. NO ABRASIVE CLEANERS, SCOURING PADS, STEEL WOOL, OR COARSE RAGS SHOULD BE USED TO CLEAN THIS FINE FURNITURE.
•STORAGE AND USE OF YOUR LEGACY CRIB: A printed plastic pouch is attached to the crib spring for the permanent storage of the assembly directions.
After completing the assembly process you are advised to read and be aware of all WARNINGS, CAUTIONS, CLEANING, STORAGE, USE AND MAINTENANCE
notices contained in this set of assembly directions and printed on the plastic pouch attached to crib spring. You will then place the complete set of assembly
directions into the plastic pouch for future referral. We caution you not to place excess hardware in the plastic pouch as it could present danger to a child
if retrieved and it could also puncture crib mattress. When storing crib use CAUTION as extreme temperature or humidity changes could be harmful. Use
CAUTION when a vaporizer is in use, always aim vapor stream away from crib as well as away from any other wood furniture item.
