Project Manager
Direct and manage renovations at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, the cons
truction of a commercial kitchen at a Long Island fire station, and various SCA
school renovation projects. Developed and updated project schedules, handled all
submittals, prepared client change orders, and developed & maintained budget an
d financial tracking reports. Bid out several fire station and school renovation
projects. Prepared detailed cost estimates and RFP responses for metropolitan a
rea health care facility projects including Nassau University Medical Center Pro
ject Management Services and the new A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility.
Extensive interface with various Nassau County Municipalities and Hospital Admin
istration.
PLAZA CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION 2000 - 2008
Account Executive
Directly managed the $28M Core and Shell restoration of a 35-floor New York City
Land Mark high rise and the $26M build out of 10 floors at The Federal Reserve
Bank of New York. Managed the construction of the $8M plaza at 55 Water Street a
nd the $2M British Memorial Garden Park at Hanover Square. Managed and supervise
d the construction of over 50 projects in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island City,
and New Jersey ranging in cost from $1M to $12M. Projects include the Noguchi M
useum, Plaza and Lobby restoration at 1330 A of A, the build out of 3 floors at
Chase Manhattan Plaza for the Law Firm of Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy, the bui
ld out of 17 floors for Goldman Sachs in Jersey City and the complete restoratio
n of a 5 story brownstone for a not for profit organization called Rosieâ s Broadway
Kids. Directly managed a staff of 4 project managers, 6 superintendents, and 2 t
echnical specialists.
LEXICON ENVIRONMENTAL ASSOCIATES. 1996 - 2000
V.P. NE Operations
Profit, loss and business development responsibilities for a new regional office
in Metro-New York. The office became profitable within six months of its openin
g in October 1996, and had over 12 full time and contract employees and annual r
evenues in excess of $1.8M. Managed and directed a staff of
geologists, hydrogeologists, engineers, and environmental specialists on all asp
ects of environmental projects. Extensive regulatory agency interface on behalf
of clients.
BELL ATLANTIC (NYNEX) New York, NY
Staff Dir. - Fuel Storage Tank Program 1991 - 1996
Established the corporate Fuel Storage Tank compliance program. Formulated, mana
ged, and directed the implementation of all strategies, construction, budgets, a
nd scheduling necessary to insure compliance with Federal, State and Local regul
ations governing underground and aboveground fuel storage tanks for approximatel
y 3000 tanks at over 2000 locations across six states.
Area Ops Manager * Construction & Inspections 1974 - 1991
Managed the design and construction of numerous phone stores, computer rooms, te
lephone switch facilities, executive and administrative offices, and training ce
nters including trainee housing, dining, & recreational facilities. Project mana
ger for the design and construction of multi-million dollar telephone switching
& computer centers and administrative office buildings located in Manhattan, Lon
g Island and Westchester, including the NYNEX Corporate headquarters. Interface
and coordinate with architects and consulting engineers, supervised all phases o
f construction, established user group requirements and coordinated tenant occup
ancy. Established and managed the implementation of a region wide facility infra
structure inspection and maintenance program for over 2,000 Central Office, Admi
nistrative and Plant Work Center locations. Directed a staff of senior engineers
, inspectors and maintenance technicians, architects, engineers, and contractors
. Negotiated with insurance carriers and municipal authorities on the evaluation
and correction of life safety and loss prevention items. Developed and administ
ered annual capital and maintenance budgets. Directed and managed the review, in
terpretation, and evaluation of Federal, State and Local regulations regarding e
nvironmental issues. Developed and implemented cost effective strategies and pro
grams to insure compliance. These issues included asbestos, lead paint, IAQ, CFCâ s,
ADA, OSHA mandates and recycling requirements
