EMPLOYMENT
8/06 TO 12/09: Hope Community Cancer Center, Marmora, NJ
Responsibilities: Initial hired as an Authorization specialist/Medical Assist. A
s coordinating all tests requested by the Doctor for the patient to have at the
facility where their insurance would be accepted such test and then get the auth
orization. Make appointments for any specialist that the doctor wanted them to
be examined by and any tests he wanted them to preform. Also, arrange blood tra
nsfusion at the Hospital covered by their Insurance, Authorize it and also arran
ge any In-patient stay, Authorize. As a Medical Assistant, I checked patients v
itals, draw labs for the Doctor as requested, go over medication list every visi
t, once seen by Doctor, I would go to the pyxis machine and order the medication
i.e., B-12, Procrit, Neupogen, etc... Then give the patient the injection of th
e medication. I am also able to do PT/INR finger stick test or by blood draw an
d Urine Protein check.
My supervisor was the head nurse: Beth Moriarity who is the only one to can be c
ontacted.

7/04 to 7/06: Atlantic Medical Imaging, NJ


Responsibilities: Worked at the front desk. I checked patients in for their pro
cedures. I would make sure they had their referral and if it needed to be Autho
rize, we had the Authorization number and always verified the Insurance. After,
preparing the billing with diagnosis and code to go to home office, I would the
n get the patient to the correct area for their procedure. Completed Medical A
ssistant School.

12/98 to 6/04: Aldwyn Group, Harleysville, PA (worked out of home)


Responsibilities: Multiple Stop-Loss Insurance brokers and Insurance companies.
Had to determine what the potential could be based on diagnosis and prognosis,
on catastrophic claims at 50% of the Specific deductible being requested. Once
that's determined Rates for the Insurance are generated for the group that wants
to be "self-funded". A Proposal is sent out and a lot of contact between me an
d the brokers take place. Started night school for Medical Assistant.
7/90 to 12/1998: Self-Funded Services, Inc., Ocean City, NJ
Responsibilities: Comprehensively reviewed and processed all claims that were s
ubmitted for reimbursement along with insuring accurate claim processing accordi
ng to plan document and the contract. Directly involved with multiple stop-loss
Insurance brokers and Insurance companies. Determined were the potential catas
trophic claims 50% of the Specific deductible being requested. Reviewing of cat
astrophic claims to determine the diagnosis and prognosis is the most important
detail. Dealing with the case managers on individual basis to determine same.
Also, did audits on Aggregate claims audits.
