Software Engineering Manager (2007-2009)
* Managed all Rockwell Collins San Jose software efforts and personnel, includin
g the Displays Systems and Test Equipment group, encompassing over a dozen softw
are efforts supporting multiple product lines. Determined staffing needs, resolv
ing resource conflicts, ensuring software efforts are on schedule and within bud
get, assisting leads with task definition, licensing issues, tool purchases, sub
contracts management, verifying processes are followed on all programs, and dete
rmining training needs.
*Directed real-time embedded software efforts for avionics display systems. Over
saw Test Equipment group developing with LabView and LabWindows and engineering
test sets to support manufacture and sell off of Rockwell Collins display system
s.
*Software proposal lead for all Rockwell Collins San Jose projects, determining
documentation deliverables, developing software architecture, estimating softwar
e effort, collecting cost estimates for tools, OS, and subcontracts, assessing s
taffing level, itemizing risks, opportunities and assumptions, and writing the p

*Managed the F18 Display Systems software team from first release through flight
test. Supported customer through BIT Demonstration and SW Qualification testing
. Maintained task and build schedule for the SW team. Performed software builds,
regression testing and release including project documentation. Estimated new w
ork proposals and reviewed Statements of Work. Managed subcontractors, and inter
faced with customers.
*Designed, coded, integrated, tested, and documented software for F18 display sy
stems using C/C++, OpenGL and CMMI processes. Responsible for implementing avion
ics display graphics, video handling, and serial communications. Assisted in tro
ubleshooting integration problems, conducted peer reviews, participated in techn
ical meetings and presentations with the customer.
