Project Manager-Assigned to Coastal's Aruba Refinery (280k BBL/Day) for the Arub
a Crude Expansion Project responsible for engineering and construction of the fo
llowing units: 23K BPD Coker new Crude Unit , Desalination Unit , Coke Handling
Facility , Dredging, Sulfur Removal and Amine Upgrades, Flare, Finger Piers and
Reef Berth rehabilitation at Coastal's Aruba Refinery. Scope included including
geotechnical investigation, driving of pipe piles, dredging of the harbor, inst
allation of a coke handling system and installation of three ship loaders mounte
d on breasting dolphins to accommodate Panamax class vessels. Managed the EPC o
f a 450 TPD sulfur plant, sulfur storage, sulfur load out system, and upgrade of
amine system through out the refinery. Scope of work included chemical, civil,
structural, mechanical, and electrical. Approved design and construction chang
es, budgets, cost reports, invoicing and schedule progress.
Project Manager-Supervised the EPCM (greenfield) installation of 120 Mw Pulveriz
ed Coal Fired Power Plant in Guatemala. Scope of work included dredging of harb
or, installation of coal unloading facility, site fill, augercast piles, foundat
ions, civil, electrical and mechanical design and installation.
Construction Manager-Managed the maintenance contract at the HOVIC Refinery in S
t, Croix, VI. Typical work included rebuilding of API Pits, replacement of air
heaters, demisters, etc.
Construction Manager-Directed and supervised the installation of a GE Gas Turbin
e for VI Water and Power Authority. Scope of work included excavation, backfill
, compaction, foundations, ductbanks, electrical and mechanical setting of the e
quipment, and the checkout and startup of the unit.
Construction Manager-Directed the Trunk Duct Modification for TVA requiring the
installation of a 30' square by-pass duct. Fabrication of duct section required
more than 7000 linear feet of welding and the rigging of duct sections weighing
75 tons to a position 100 feet above grade with a Ringer Crane. Completed plan
t tie-in in 12 days and awarded a $210M early completion bonus.
Project / Construction Manager - Plant Services. Retrofit of operating plants
in the Southern US. Projects included startup of plants, Outage /Turnarounds an
d Retrofit Modifications such as balanced draft conversions, retubal of boilers,
precipitator modifications, heater replacement, turbine modifications, etc.
