Recruited to direct the on-site client audits for national and global industry l
eaders including Tyco, Aetna Insurance, Dollar Tree, Overnite Transportation, We
stvaco, Media General, HCA, Welch's, GlaxoWellcome, and Reichold Chemicals. Mana
ged up to six other auditors in verifying the effectiveness of clients' internal
controls, checking for mismanagement or fraud, and recommending initiatives to
increase recoveries and profitability. Collaborated with clients to identify req
uirements and create custom projects addressing corporate efficiency, effectiven
ess, and regulatory compliance/documentation concerns. Key member of an audit te
am assigned to large retail clients including RiteAid, Pep Boys, and Walgreens;
analyzed massive amounts of data to identify potential recoveries.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
* Reduced a substantial write-off of accrued receipts for Tyco by $5M by archite
cting a receipt review plan during a standard accounts payable audit.
* Created a match plan for Tyco's charged-off receivables that successfully redu
ced the amount of potential escheatable unapplied cash by $1M.
* Secured a three-year, on-site contract with Tyco as a direct result of the suc
cessful execution of these and other custom auditing projects.
* Identified and recovered or saved more than $8M for auditing clients in severa
