EXPERIENCE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
9/2005 - Present
Egg Harbor Township Board of Education Egg Harbor Township, NJ
Special Education Teacher: English
Five years ago, I entered the Public School system. I found it far more regulat
ory and Union driven than the Private sector. I adapted and flourished. In the
past five years I have taught at every academic level and experienced every subj
ect matter from Spanish to health.
11/1999 - Present
Center Stage Entertainment/ Motherhood Egg Harbor Township, NJ
Lead Vocalist/Mother
As a professional singer, I was afforded the luxury of taking a hiatus in my Tea
ching career and staying home with my sons. I took five years to see them off t
o Kindergarten and sang on nights and weekends. This hectic experience had enab
led me to become one of the greatest multitaskers of all time. Having children
in the school system has enabled me to understand the unique concerns and situat
ions of many families and their students. I still entertain today, sometimes in
the classroom, but more often at a wedding or charity event.
9/1994 - 11/1999
The Y.A.L.E. School Cherry Hill, NJ
Self-Contained Teacher
I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to the YALE school. The hired me when I
was flight attendant with some substitute experience and a degree in English.
After allowing me to be an instructional aide for one month, they gave me my ow
n classroom. I was responsible for educating students who had been removed from
their public schools due to discipline concerns. I instructed students of all
ages and with a range of disabilities, in every subject and created behavior pla
ns to address specific behaviors that were impeding student progress. This exp
erience has given me the confidence to say that I can teach anyone--anything--an
ywhere.
EDUCATION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1991 English
Bachelor of Art GPA: 3.6 - Rowan University (Glassboro Stae College), Glassboro
, NJ
I absolutely love English! Literature, Drama, Grammar, Creative writing, Readin
g...you name it, I love it. I often ask my students at the beginning of the yea
r to ask themselves, "Why is Mrs. Davis bothering to teach us this?" There is a
reason stories and poems and epics remain in the curriculum today. My students
become literary archaeologists as they dig though the words to find the reasons
certain pieces remain in texts and on required reading lists today.

1989 Basic Studies

Associate of Art GPA: 3.8 - Atlantic Cape Community College, Mays Landing , NJ
Transfer in after one year at Ramapo State College in Northern NJ. A family eme
rgency prevented me form attending school far from my home. Counselors pointed
me toward the Basic Studies route as my first year courses were standard freshm
an courses and Musical Theatre entries. My first major was Musical Theatre!

Education
33 Additional Credits (Post B.A.) - Rowan University, Georgian Court University,
Rutgers University, Throughout NJ, NJ
As an emergency certified Special Education teacher, I needed to take education
classes so that the state could award me my certificate. These additional 33 cr
edits are based in education, but vary in content from Adaptive Physical Educati
on (Master's level) to Special Education Law.
