our calling a reality. When we look back on our life and work, and the minis-
try opportunities that have shaped us, it's as if God packed
our suitcases for this trip. The people around us have af-
firmed our skills and gifts; mentors and close friends have
communicated their appreciation for our teaching, hospitality, and wisdom. Our
church—Olathe Bible Church—supports us whole-heartedly.

The Path Ahead

Our end goal is to move to Paris by the end of 2011. Much remains to be done.
Even now, prayerful consideration is being given to the logistics of settling us into
a productive ministry life in France, including cross-cultural training in North
Carolina later this year and language school in Massy, France (January 2012).

First, we are seeking partners to support us financially. We believe we are called

to full time ministry in France and cannot realistically count on our freelance in-
come to support that goal. With your help we can, (1) immerse ourselves in the life
and work of a local church plant, (2) use Russell's design skills and Carol's admin-
istration skills to serve our fellow missionaries, and (3) be free to use our art skills to
penetrate the culture.
We must raise about $6,974.00 ($3,666.00 of which is our salary,
adjusted for the Euro to Dollar exchange rate.) in ongoing monthly support to
provide for our housing, living, international health insurance, and
ministry costs (a full break down of our monthly budget is posted
on our blog: www.parisbarrs.blogspot.com). France is an expensive
field of ministry and we are asking you to take part in the work there
by giving, starting now.
One-time donations and ongoing monthly donations before our departure will
go towards our outgoing expenses, which include our cross-cultural training, air-
fare, language school, shipping costs and initial set-up needs in France. By contrib-
uting one-time or monthly, in any amount, you truly are participating in the
work God is doing in France.
