Holistic meaning of the fingerprint patterns


Johnny Finchman in Chapter 6 of “The Spellbinding Power of Palmistry”
states that dermatoglyphics are “powerful indicators of the prevailing mental
currents of whatever aspect of personality they are found on. The different
positions on the prints have “huge consequences” and for this reason we have
to be patient and examine the hand carefully. He further says: “they are
potent character markers”. “In traditional Hindu palmistry, print patterns
indicate the flow of karmic forces acting on the person.” They replicate they
arrangement of the brain’s synapses in a given area, shaping the prevailing
psychological pattern there.
The meanings of the patterns in general are stated below:
1. The Simple arch: *the bedrock * binding and holding *deep * fixed
*materialistic * stubborn *loyal *repressed *prising equality and
faithfulness *a sense of inhibition an unpretentiousness *physical,
persistent and practical *highly resistant to slickness, artifice,
superficiality, modernity and change *need for physical and emotional
expression to release *deeply repressed impulses *ultra conformist in
useful and demanding roles *resentful and rebellious in the form of
underground and subversive activity.
2. Ulnar Loop: most common pattern on the palm and digits. *moving
with the current *sense of empathy *going with the social flow
*gregarious *prioritizing friendship and relationships *adapts easily
with conventions *emotive *feeling of response *receptive
*impressionable.
3. Radial Loop: Trapped and moved by the current and the needs of
others *a sense of being pushed and shaped by others *open to exterior
stimuli *caring *insecure *prioritized other needs over one’s own.
4. Tented arch: *splashing wave crests *impulse to break out of
boundaries *need to be prominent *highly enthusiastic and excited
*agitated * resentful *full of action and self-expression *impulsive
*fanatic *at the extremes if not controlled.
5. Whorl: *a floating bubble of air *involved in one’s own processes
*needs freedom *original *distinct oddness (if there are more whorls)
*alienation and individualism *highly talented and energetic *tries to
live in one’s own world *stressful *secretive *highly motivated
*questions everything.
6. Composite: *Turbulence *psychological cycles of enthusiasm and
disappointment *for and against *moody *mostly not certain on any
point *indecisive *open to explore * universal viewpoint.
