MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Specified and Designed several innovative instrumentation products
at Mountz. One of these products has become the highest selling
instrument in the history of the company.
Management, specification, and hands-on participation in the design
and implementation of numerous electronic products. This included
mixed signal circuit design, embedded firmware and software
development on the PC to add functionality to the products.
Specified interactive user interfaces and wrote manuals for the
products. Provided training for both sales people and customers on
the operation of the products.
Worked closely with manufacturing, at Mountz, to ensure complete
test procedures were in place for final testing of products designed
by engineering.
Designed and Performed board layout for many products bringing them
from specification to production.
Designed Power Regulation, Boost circuits and Power Management for
several hand held devices
Specified and implemented various sophisticated algorithms.
Obtained CE Compliance for 4 recent products. The CE (European
conformity) mark certifies that a product has met EU consumer safety,
health or environmental requirements.
EXPERIENCE
MOUNTZ INC. (ELECTRONIC PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER) 1996-2009
Responsibility for all Electronic Product Development. This included
electronic design of mixed signal instrumentation products as well as
imbedded firmware and associated PC based software. Several products
were designed using Microchip PIC18xxx processors using C and
Assembly language. Extensive use of Integrated Development
Environments (IDE) and Debuggers. Other software development was done
in Visual Basic and VB.net as well as VBA.
Designed numerous mixed signal products involving embedded firmware
and associated software. Designed various electronic support products
such as PLC interface units and calibration devices. Other
applications designed included a Multiplexor, Barcode, and RFID
interface to the instrumentation products.
Implemented Statistical Process Control software for both standalone
applications as well as an Excel Add-In. Implemented real-time data
acquisition for both RS-232 and USB communications as well as
One-Wire protocol for storage of calibration information.
Developed several demonstrations for wireless communications
including both Bluetooth and Zigbee.
