Introduction

This two-day course brings delegates up-to-date with the latest pronouncements from the International Public
Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB), which focuses on the accounting and financial reporting needs of
national, regional and local governments, related governmental agencies, and the constituencies they serve. This
program provides experienced International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) practitioners with
information focused on the recent and upcoming changes to IPSAS. This update course also serves as a
supplement to our Courses 3200 and 3250: Overview of International Public Sector Accounting Standards IPSAS
Accrual Basis (3-day course) and Overview of International Public Sector Accounting Standards IPSAS Cash
Basis (2-day course), which provide a comprehensive overview of the most important requirements for
understanding and applying IPSAS.

This program gives delegates an update on recent and future developments of the IPSAS, including exposure
drafts and invitational papers for comment. This two-day, highly interactive course also covers the
frequently-asked questions of implementing IPSAS (hot topics).

Application issues and the experiences of entities that are implementing IPSAS in the public sector are
discussed. Course participants are encouraged to raise questions and interact with other delegates, therefore
learning from the practical experiences of applying IPSAS.

This program answers questions such as:

o What are the recent changes in IPSAS?

o What are the likely future changes in IPSAS?
o When will new requirements be effective?
