ORGANIZATIONAL/SUPERVISION
Challenge: 2006-2009. Administration of 3000+ subsurface treatment systems. Th
is program was developed and instituted for local unit of government administrat
ion reporting activity.
* Transferred and organized all septic data onto automated subsurface treatment
system reporting software from individual property records.
* Action: Instituted revised septic tank pumping permit.
* Average number of permits bought by year, 1077.
* Average money acquired from permitted activity 10,662 dollars.
* Average number of gallons pumped from septic tanks, 1,375,537.
* Remitted septic tank pumping reminder correspondence yearly.
* Issued letters of compliance for new or replacement systems.
* Entered results of compliance inspections on excel spread sheet and issued sys
tem compliance results to owners.
* Result: The developed septic tank pumping permit and yearly septic tank pumpin
g reminders allowed the City of Ramsey to track individual systems resulting in
data being transcribed onto a Minnesota Pollution Control Agency yearly survey.
MANAGEMENT/STRUCTURE
Challenge: Meet expectations of permit holders in a timely manner
* Action: Building technician placed inspections on schedule. Each inspector ver
ified address, projected.
* Researched new products being applied in project for correct installation and
issued violation notices/stop-work orders, conferring with owners and violators
to explain regulations and recommend ratifications.
* Entered inspection results onto automated building department software.
* Organized text material for code references to inspect similar projects.
* Result: All new building products being utilized were researched and daily ins
pections were completed. The results were inserted on automation building depart
ment software.
