Kage Logitech Z-5500

Wow, its ages since I've been to this place. Its changed so

much!

I'm back though, and probably back for good I hope you

welcome me back after so long

I started work on this model a couple of months back (I'm

View My Portfolio still slow at modelling, but I think I've improved alot).

Join Date: May 2006 Its a model of the Logitech Z-5500 speaker system, and I
Location: UK was planning to model the entire set,
speakers/pod/sub/controller and make a studio setup, and
Age: 21
possibly a fake advertisement animation.

Thanks: 0 type model thats been seen many times before, but the
Thanked 0 Times in 0 amount of work I've placed into this, trying to get it as
Posts accurate as possible (especially the latest pod model), is
Rep Power: 3 something I've never done before, and any feedback would
be fantastic.

I've already modelled the front/rear speakers, and the pod.

All thats left now is the centre speaker stand, and the sub,
and finally the controller.

Its all clay at the moment, but I will proceed to

texture/shade the models after completion, because I really
get thrown off otherwise, as I've learnt from past
experience.

I use Max, and Vray as the renderer as standard

I hope you like, and sorry about the long read :p

RENDERS:

Very early material test:

Control pod finished, with speaker:

Control pod back:

Control pod wire (The back may need doing again for
cleanliness, but it renders fine)

Thanks for looking :) Any comments welcome

Hey, thanks so much :D It really means a lot to me when I get comments like that, honestly :) lol

I've just finished modelling the screw holes, and I'm going to start on the cone inside, with the Logitech logo on it, and
modelling the back, which may take a while (though its built of many bits)

I have no idea what I'm going to do with this after I've finished either. I thought as much as creating a studio setup, pu
desk type scene with computer, etc I may model, or create some kind of animation to show them off.
I love these speakers though. They have made music so much more enjoyable :)

Hope to have updates shortly.

You may as well see a wire of the sub so far:

but thats only to keep control:
ack of images, I have tonnes to show, and these will hopefully make up for it :) Like I said, I'm sorry :(

Registered User I'll have updates soon. I've been working on the shaders for
the tweeter, and its looking alot better in terms of
antistropic highlights.

In the next few hours, I'm going to progress to the next

part of the texturing process, which will involve taking UVW
maps into Photoshop to create better bump maps/colour

Thats all I can think of :p

Any ideas on how you'd like the final render to be like? I
was thinking of having all the models together, layed out
like you see on images, and also render a back view of
them all as well.

In the future I may use these in a scene of some sort also...
