HENRY VIII
Henry Tudor, son of Henry VII, was born by in 1491. He was the second
king of the Tudor Dynasty and one of the most popular.

He was the second son and he didn’t expect to become king. When he was
ten years old, Henry attended the wedding of his older brother Arthur and
his bride, the Spanish princess Catherine of Aragon. However, Arthur had
very poor health and shortly after the wedding, the marriage ended with
Arthur's death. A treaty was signed to allow Catherine to marry the next
heir to the throne – Prince Henry. For this, he needed the permission of the
Pope.

Henry was just eighteen years old when he became king, and he was
preparing for it since his brother Arthur died. At this age, he was
handsome, athletic, tall and had bright red-gold hair and beard.

Henry's “marital career” is probably the thing that he is most famous for;
he married six times but only had three children. He was also famous for
his love of music. He was a good musician, composer and singer. It is said
that he owned 10 trombones, 14 trumpets, 5 bagpipes and 78 flutes! He
was a very well educated man, he spoke four languages (English, French,
Spanish and Latin), wrote poetry, and knew a lot about religion.
