Job Description: Duties included overseeing the day to day operations of the uni
t; monitoring staff members and insuring that the quality of life was met for al
l residents within the unit. I was responsible for implementing daily activities
that were functional for all residents. I acted as patient/family liaison. I ma
naged MDS charting on patients each day and reporting any change in status on pa
tients to the proper personnel. I demanded a high level of standards that met ea
ch patient's requirements and was in charge of daily staff meetings to insure al
l shifts were up to date with patient's status. Reported all maintenance and rep
airs to the appropriate staff to insure the safety of all. Insured all OSHA and
HIPPA regulations were met and followed.
Achievements: Developed and implemented a hurricane evacuation plan for the pati
ents and staff of my unit. In September 2005 during hurricane Rita I evacuated w
ith my seventeen residents to a facility in north Louisiana and stayed with my p
atients for a month before returning home to my family when conditions were safe
enough for the patients.
