MESSAGE FROM THE PRYTANIS Bruce Talmage '74

Eirst- of all on J:;ehalf of 'all the men of the TKE House, I would like to say hello.
aJd tb reIil+nd you of , several important events coming up at the House.
:t As_discussed in detail on the first page of this issue of NU-News, the-rescheduled
Founder·; s Day Banquet will be held on Wedne.sday, March 6th. It will certainly be a big
occas - ion- and it will celebrate Nu Chapter's 55th Anniversary at Cal.. Also, April 20th
't!ill be an exciting Saturday evening designated as ' Casino Night. This affair will not
onl_y be an_-occasion designed to bring the Actives and the Alumni together :i,n good fellow-
._sh ip: but will also re-establish the TKE scholarship fund. Plans for the Third Annual
TKE Formal are just now getting under way. The date for this affair has been tentatively
set for Saturday, May 4, 1974. The men of the House hope you will be able to upport'all
three of thes great occasions and they look forward to personally greeting each and
every Alum.
TKE House held an election in Decem1)er and other -new'officers, in addition to myself,
elected were Frank Nemec '75, Epiprytanis; Joe Rea '76, C1lry sophlos i Clark Gross '74,

the House and it activities, please drp us a line or give us a telephone call.
As indicated in the Fall, 1973 Nu News, " • • . the state of brotherhood permeate!? our

lent physical shape. At the beginning of this quarter the men of the Bouse.helped Larry
Miller and myself refinish the dining room floor and to replace the 1Lvinci .room ceiling.
Even though -'; h,·y were both big jobs, they turned out very well. ·Our financlal outlook
is bright alsc dnd I am happy to report that last quarter went "under budget" for the
first time in several years -- in spite of inflation. We have two new cooks who are both
working out fine. In early January, we had a very helpful visit from Bobin Johnson, our
chapter service advisor. We aI'e presently beginning our Spring and summr Rush PrGgram
.
and we anticipate it to -be very successful.
The men of TKE House and myself extend an open invitation to all of the Alumni to
. visit the House. Best wishes to all.

SPRING RUSH EFFORT ORGANI?:ED

As- all TKE's know, the House membershp is dynamic-- but changing. Jeff Red1itz '76,

all wish him well.

In the meantime, the task of recruiting new members for Spring and next Fall has
been assigned to Vice President, Frank Nemec 175. A true leader in every sense of the
word, Frank has planned House . meetings, barbeques and other special outings to stir up in-
terest in the TKE House.
The response has already begun to be apparent with new people calling and several
are_under- consideration These include two men from Putnam Hall and a foreign . exchange
stbdent from Serlin.
