us on China and Asian markets. Directed and implemented bottom-up import/export
program, supplier sourcing, supplier relations and audits, logistics, and offsho
re consolidation of international purchases. Result: Managed total imports of $
80MM/year, generating $200MM in revenues.
* Hired/trained/managed core sourcing team, including Sourcing Managers, Interna
tional Logistics Specialists, Purchasers and Compliance Managers. Result: Import
volumes grew to > 2M containers/year, using 45 ports of origin.
* Launched SSI's private brand, School Smart(R). Result: Generated >$130MM reven
ues/year through sourcing initiatives.
* Implemented Vendor Management/Lead Time Reduction Programs with SSI's top 25 i
nternational suppliers. Result: Successfully reduced order lead times on intern
ational orders from 120 to 45-60 days, as measured from date PO issued to final
warehouse delivery.
