Responsibilities included Data Center and Help Desk employee hiring, training, a
nd reviews. Coordinated and documented HP/Unix System processes. Assured the int
egrity and security of the system by consistently researching, revising, and enf
orcing system procedures, producing a data center recovery plan, and acting as t
he coordinator of the institute-wide business continuity plan.
* Instituted improved and increase frequency of tape backups, retention, and off
site storage.
* Researched and evaluated fire suppression alternatives to Halon, resulting in
a written proposal to the CIO to replace with FM200. Halon system was replaced w
ith FM200 within one year,

des in response to those needs.
* Researched, and evaluated existing disaster recovery planning software for a c
orporate DR initiative. Recommended package (LDRPS); this remains in use to this
day.
* Designed and developed Operations procedure manual for BPA/ABC audits for Spec
trum, Computer, and Communications Magazines. Implemented improved backup and re
tention procedures for subscriber files needed to produce these reports for semi
-annual audits.
