Nokia w Quality Process & Compliance Manager: 2000 - 2006
Nokia NMP is an R&D product creation facility of next generation mobile digital
convergence. My remit was to quality manage the Wireless Radio Access Network (W
RAN) project, within the Software Protocols division, which successfully launche
d the world's first 3G mobile phone. I reported directly to the Software Factory
Manager.

1997 - 2000 Quality Process Manager; for The Grass Roots Group, who develop & ma
nage customer loyalty & reward incentive programs. My remit entailed advising, p
lanning & performing quality checks of developers work, agreeing requirements &
monitoring quality issues. I performed dozens of quality audits within different
business areas - trouble-shooting, & reviewing process streams & data flows. I
authored & owned the company wide Y2K test plan & results, inc. presentations to
clients. I authored quality processes across the company and deliverable and fu
nctional specifications for some projects as required. I performed some testing
of developed software as required - predominantly for higher profile clients. I
left to take on a much larger challenge, to work on a very high profile and tech
nically challenging project, for a world number one corporate, Nokia.
1995 - 1997 Quality Chief Engineer; for Group 1 Software, American provider of m
ultiple platform suites of products, enabling heavy scale printing; E.g. Amex bi
ll statements. Performed technical testing of complex object orientated software
. Authored test plans and scripts. Produced host compatible print data streams v
ia bespoke applications. Executed tests and verified output on up to twelve oper
ating systems. I provided front-end interface and core system testing on all com
pany products. I tested a multi-million pound OS/2 to NT application port, in Da
llas, Texas; identified circa 1000 bugs, earning high praise from the IT Directo
r & board.
1992 - 1995 Quality Process Manager; for Oscar Faber, engineering consultants to
the water industry. I implemented a new quality management system that gained t
he company ISO accreditation. I managed the company-wide quality management syst
em of ISO processes and a team of testing engineers, in the validation & verific
ation of geographical and asset management software.
1989 - 1992 Quality Senior Technician; for Checkout Computers, providers of besp
oke EPOS hardware and software solutions for Retail & Hospitality sectors. I tes
ted front & back office stock control systems. The long hours dedicated to this
role, grew my intelligence, maturity, & full software development lifecycle expe
rience.
1985 - 1989 Mainframe Computer Operator; for British Aerospace, aeronautical & a
ir weapons manufacturer; several thousand staff site. I supported IBM Mainframe
applications, using master consoles and performed system & batch archiving. I wo
rked with large-volume classified material - official secrets act, security clea
red.
1982 - 1985 Senior Sales Assistant; for John Lewis PLC, retail giant. I gained e
xtensive knowledge of computerised stock control systems. I learned specific sal
