Childrens hospital serving 250K patients annually.
Vice President of Development & Chief Development Officer
Headed a 15-member team to drive an active fundraising function and run a 1,500-
member hospital-wide volunteer program. Spearheaded funding resource development
including solicitations of individuals, corporations, foundations, associations
and organizations. Additionally oversaw the efforts of the hospitals foundation
and its 18-member board of directors.
Led 2 major capital campaigns to benchmark levels of success, achieving $12.3M
and $7.6M in funding, respectively, and personally soliciting 6-figure donations
and a million-dollar gift.
Consistently exceeded annual fundraising goals, driving annual returns from $2.
5M to $5M despite an economic downturn and department budget reductions by restr
ucturing the development team to strategically focus on annual, major, planned g
ift and research functions.
Dramatically expanded the volunteer program that resulted in securing 400 new v
olunteers to assist in hospital programs and fundraising efforts.
Implemented new system resulting in the identification of 1,000 prospects and e

Directed the firms critical Kiwanis International / Kiwanis International Founda

as well as management of a $50M Foundation endowment. Directed a 15-member devel
opment team and coordinated the efforts of hundreds of hospital volunteers.
Directed activities of the 36 member Foundation Board of Directors, which was o
ne of the top volunteer boards in the city of Indianapolis.
Directed $50M in funding while in this position with the direction of 7 separat
e capital campaigns.
