1 Setting the loading preferences

Several controls affect how GPEH data is loaded.
From the Tools menu, select Preferences, to display the Change Preferences dialog.
Note the PCM Link > Load Mode options:

Full mode loads all messages in the data but can be slow, and may fail, depending on the
amount of data selected for the load. If you are running Analyzer on a PC with good
performance and have less than 200MB of data, you might prefer this option.
Minimal mode allows you to load a selected subset of the overall data, through the
selection of Scenarios or load-time queries. If you have more than 200MB of data and are
running Analyzer on a PC with a low performance, you might prefer this option.

If the amount of data is too high, the load will eventually

fail with a ‘file is corrupted’ message.

Further down in the Change Preferences dialog, note the box named Ericsson > Load all
adjacent files:

With Ericsson GPEH files, you only need to select the *.Mp0 file in a particular folder, and
Analyzer will automatically load the corresponding session files in that folder (all other files
with the same name ending in Mp1 onwards (*.Mp1, *.Mp2, *.Mp3 …), as shown below:

Normally, if you load the first *.Mp0 file in the folder, ALL corresponding files for ALL
sessions will be loaded (including all other *.Mp0 files). This may cause problems if your
PC is unable to process large amounts of data (possibly 200MB or more).
If you would like to load only 1 session, as shown in the screenshot above, clear the Load
all adjacent files box.

Note that even with the load adjacent option deselected,

you can still select multiple *.Mp0 files.

From the Tools menu, select Choose Scenario to display the Attach Load Time Queries
dialog.

Ensure that GPEH Analysis Pack is selected, and click OK.

Note that if you still have problems loading the data, when
you return to this dialog, clear all the boxes apart from
GPEH Analysis Pack.

From the File menu, select Open Logfile and select the GPEH files that you want to load.

2 Using Minimal load

If the Load Mode was set to Minimal load in the Preferences dialog, the session appears
almost empty in Attribute Explorer.
However, you can analyze individual calls using the GPEH queries displayed in the Attribute
Explorer tree:
Display the query in Statistics Explorer.
Select a call in the query that you wish to analyze.
Click on the Analyze button to generate a substream which you can then examine in the
Protocol Stack Browser.

3 Using Full load

If the Load Mode was set to Full load in the Preferences dialog, all the session messages
are decoded, and Attribute Explorer is populated.
However for larger log files, this can be very slow, or even fail to load.

Note: individual calls can still be drilled into through

queries as with Minimal load.
