B.Tech MAIN PROJECT REPORT

SYNOPSIS
Airline notifier aims at designing a new software which includes sending SMS to
inform passengers in an airline about flight status. The information regarding the
flight status such as delays, cancellations, change of the dates of flights and some
other important changes are required to be known at the right time. This information
is sent to the customer using SMS. The mobile phones are the most widely available
communication devices in the hands of the people. Hence, this technology is
exploited to bring out a very useful software for the present world. In this project a
web interface is created to enable the user to register to the authority. At the time of
registration, the user has to provide a username and password, only through which he
can login later. This project makes possible for ticket reservation and cancellation
through simple SMS. Queries about the flight status are also possible along with
other additional information. The reservation and cancellation involves mobile
banking transactions. Using this approach, the customers holding a mobile banking
account can easily book tickets and do the payments. For those who do not posses a
mobile banking account an option is given as to deposit a fixed amount during the
registration time to the authority’s account. When the amount is not sufficient, the
booking is denied till the user deposits the required amount. Hence, all payments can
be done using this deposited money. The security is provided using the user name,
password and a unique key. This key is generated for each individual ticket.
