ENGINEERING MANAGER from 1999 to 2001. Led global design and development for En
gine Evaporative Emission systems Purge Actuators and Solenoids, managing team o
f 15 engineers across 2 sites in Mexico.
- Reduced manufacturing process variations and quality defects through use of va
rious CI methods and tools, including DOE, Cause and Effect / Fishbone Diagram,
Control Charts, Histogram and Pareto, Radar / Spider Charts.
- Holder of patent and defensive publications on electromagnetically energized a
ctuators in vehicle emissions systems.
ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR from 1995 to 1999. Provided leadership to team of 20 Pro
duct Design and Development mechanical engineers for Steering Columns and Contro
ls and Intermediate Shafts in support of 5 Manufacturing Plants in Michigan, Ala
bama, Mexico, Spain and Italy.
- Slashed product development cost by directing multi-million dollar initiative
to recruit and train 20 plus national engineers to staff start-up Delphi Steerin
g Systems design center located in Mexico on time and within budget.
- Led transfer and implementation of full testing capabilities to the Mexico Tec
h Center, achieving reduced testing development cost by 40%.
