I instructed the 9th through 12th grade levels as a non-tenured teacher of Heati
ng, Ventilating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. My accomplishments included
the reorganization of the shop's mechanical equipment and the implementation of
the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Institute Course Curriculum. I proposed a
modification to the current curriculum to include Facilities Maintenance, which
would graduate a senior student with a NJ State Black Seal Low Pressure Fireman'

I was responsible for operating and maintaining a 1050 ton chiller plant and 400
HP boiler plant with all associated auxiliary equipment on the 11:30 PM to 8:00
AM shift including weekend work shifts. Repaired or rebuilt centrifugal pumps,
semi-hermetic refrigeration compressors, steam condensate return systems, and po
table water booster pump systems. In the absence of the contracted elevator comp
any, the US Postal Service trained select trade employees to operate and repair
the hydraulic elevators of which I was one. Additional duties included maintaini
ng the electrical system infrastructure connected to all mail processing equipme
nt. I assembled and repaired all grounds maintenance equipment.
Before being trained in the maintenance trade, duties included mail processing a
nd delivery. Training included passenger vehicle operation, one, two and five to
n box truck operation.
