* Developed and managed approximately 40 indirect rates for costs that had been
previously charged directly to contracts. Successfully tutored and mentored 15 f
inancial analysts in the processes of developing and monitoring the rates which
significantly improved forecasting abilities.
* Awarded claim against the Department of Defense for the increased cost of heal
th and welfare benefits for personnel represented under a Collective Bargaining
Unit. The claim was initially denied by United Stated Armed Services Board of A
ppeals, however their decision was overturned by the United States Court of Appe
als for the Federal Circuit. The value of the 2006 victory was $8M which direct
ly improved the profitability of the contract and business unit.
* Negotiated sole source contract for procurement of hard-to-find aircraft parts
worth an estimated $250M. Overcame contentious contract language and somewhat
hostile customer through extensive dialogue and persuasive discussions.
* Developed rudimentary Earned Value Measurement (EVM) capability for program wi
th annual revenues of $8M. Developed Excel based EVM spreadsheet which could be
updated and utilized by personnel with limited EVM experience. Received commen
dation from customer for providing them insight into the performance of tasks an
d funding requirements.
