Summary:
More than 20 years experience in semiconductor startups and manufacturing suppor
t.
Managed project budgets to $50K.
ISO9000, QS9000, TS16949 quality certification experience.
Proven leadership.
Growth and performance oriented for employees supervised.
Process development in multiple semiconductor fields. (Ion Implant, CMP, RTP)
Equipment engineering and evaluations
SPC (Six Sigma), 5S, DOE, FMEA and YE defect data analysis skills.
Sole proprietorship business owner.
Achievements:
Eliminated test wafer usage with on product metrology at 5 different process ste
ps thus providing a $10,000/month cost savings to operations.
Managed multiple tool installations and qualifications with SIMS and SEM analysi
s. One particular installation required an exhaust system redesign due to OSHA n
on-compliance. This project was still delivered on time with a qualified process
(IPEC 676 Tungsten Process).
Researched and developed new implant anneal monitoring process. I improved the t
ool availability 15%, and the film uniformity 8%. In addition, I was able to ach
ieve a 1:1 sensitivity of the monitoring system which was a 300% improvement.
Reduced high current implant tool, beam current errors 80% by proving process re
cipe limits were too tight.
Evaluated processes for technology transfer match with SIMS and optimized them f
or maximum throughput.
Prioritized technicians' efforts for maximum manufacturing output. Although manu
facturing shifts were evenly staffed, my crew support outperformed the other shi
fts by 10% or more.
Represented the company's implant engineering group for all process engineering,
quality assurance, new product development, tool matching, and SPC meetings at
the Richmond facility.
Innovated metrology recipe integrity system using existing data. This system ass
ured feed forward measurement data being measured at the same sites, thus elimin
ating range issues and dedicated metrology tools.
Analyzed and presented the results of 87 experiments to the Infineon Process Cha
nge Review Board. Of all those experiments presented 76 of them or 87% were acce
pted as significant improvements to the process, product quality, or provided a
manufacturing improvement.
Eliminated more than 35% of all polished wafer CMP scrap by developing and quali
fying a polish re-work process through SEM, probe and final test analysis.
