Job description: As a nursing student I spent 3 years working in a hospital doin
g clinical rotations and volunteering in several other hospitals. As a student a
nd a volunteer, I administered medications through injections, orally, and IV. I
assisted patients with every request from bed baths to help with ambulatory nee
ds. I performed and charted full assessments on patients which includes; blood p
ressure, respiratory rates, pulse, oxygen saturation, and temperature. I assiste
d nursing staff with patient education before discharge of several patients and
felt at ease being the teacher to both patient and family members present. As a
student I started over 70 IVs and gave hundreds of medications IV, IM and subQ.
I am very comfortable with needles and was constantly commended on my needle saf
ety.

Job description: I worked doing back office work which includes; filing, answeri
ng phones, charting and computer work. I also worked with patients doing pre-wor
k up evaluations before they were seen by the doctor. I took blood pressures and
charted past medical history before placing the patient in the exam room. I ass
isted the doctors with charting notes as well as handing equipment to the physic
ians during the exam. I was the patients advocate between him/her and the doctor
on personal requests and concerns.

Job description: I worked as a courtesy clerk so I bagged groceries and helped p
eople out to their car if they needed it. I cleaned up spills and messes on the

I answered phones and helped students at Long Beach City College complete their
registration process. I assisted first time students at LBCC as well as problems

Job Description: I was a receptionist and an optometric assistant. I answered p
hones and dealt with insurance companies in order to get verification for eye ex
ams, contact lens, and glasses. I worked one on one with the doctor doing pre-co
rneal readings on the patients before they went in for an eye exam. I also fitte
d and altered frames to fit the individual face of the patients and trained pati
ents to put in and take out contacts. I worked on billing for the patients and t
he insurance companies as well. I assisted with the patients who had different p
roblems with their contacts or glasses.
