Woodruff Church of God e-Edition Newsletter

June 7, 2011

Pastor’s Notes
I’ve heard great reports of
the church services from
Sunday. My prayer was that
God would show up and show out….. I’m
so very blessed to have great people serving
on the ministerial team here at Woodruff.
Our church is blessed with great staff and
great ministers that can fill the pulpit and do
an outstanding job! My family and I enjoyed church on Sunday morning, however I can
honestly say “THERE IS NOTHING LIKE WOODRUFF WORSHIP!!!!!”. Thank
you for allowing us time to rest and refresh, but we’re anxious to be back in the House of
the Lord to give God some PRAISE!!!!!!

I just wanted to express my personal appreciation to

Donna & Garren Burdette and all their Children’s
Workers for the absolute wonderful job they did in
hosting our first annual KIDZ JAM!!!!! Well over
100 people were in attendance Friday night for a
special time gear for our kids. They had a live
praise & worship band to do music for the kids, fun
and games which included a money machine, and
special children’s speaker. This meeting was well
organized and all the workers were engaged in
doing a host of things to make this meeting special.
I know that pictures will be available and hopefully we’ll be putting together a video to
showcase this AWESOME event. GREAT JOB!!!!!

We have 2 very exciting things happening Sunday….

1) Sunday morning there will be a Children’s Service. We’ve made an attempt to have
our children in the services a little more often and to given them opportunity to be
involved in leading worship. They need to know that God’s plan is to use His people to
do works of ministry. By allowing the children to be involved in the services, they are
learning to be submissive to God and making themselves available to Him. Please make
your plans to be present to support the children…..10:30 AM

2) Sunday evening there will be a DISTRICT PENTECOST RALLY….. This will be

held at the Gray Court Church of God at 6:00 PM. Because of this rally, there will be no
service held at our church as
we will be transferring our
service to this District Rally.
We want our church to be well
represented, so we are asking
EVERYONE to make their
plans to be at the Gray Court
Church!!!!! There will be lots
of singing and Rev. Jerry
Barrineau will be bringing the
message!

Sunday, June 19th also

holds some important
things for us. That day is
FATHER’S DAY. We will
be giving recognition to all
Father’s in the morning
service. All Dads who are
in attendance for Sunday
School, will have their
name entered into a
drawing for some special
prizes. Each Dad will also
receive a gift as they leave
the building. Let’s come
together for a meaningful
time as we honor our
Father’s.

Special Father’s Day

Message will be entitled:
“CAMOUFLAGE”

Then on Sunday evening,

our annual South Carolina
Church of God Camp
Meeting will begin at the
Mauldin Church of God
Campgrounds. Speakers
are Dr. Raymond
Culpepper, Dr. Perry Stone,
Rev. Tommy Bates, Dr.
Gerald McGinnis and Ms. Lisa Harper. See the flyer for information concerning the days
they speak. Morning services are at 10:00 AM and the evening services are at 6:30 PM.

Because Camp Meeting begins on Sunday evening, there will be no services here at the church
on Sunday evening June 19th or Wednesday June 22.

We just wanted to let you know that our parents and grandparents, James & Wanda, found out
about the "surprise" 50th anniversary "get together" dinner that we had planned for June 17th.
They appreciate the thought, but have respectfully declined and strongly requested that there be
no such event. We, as loving children and grandchildren, are graciously honoring their special
request so the event has been cancelled.

We would like to thank you for your love & friendship to them and for being such an important
part of their lives. We are grateful for God's blessings on our family and the many years of
wedded bliss Mom & Dad (Nana & Papa) have enjoyed together and just pray they will have
many, many more! They enjoy wonderful times spent with each of you one on one, but it is
simply their desire not to have special events such as this where they are spotlighted:)
