Dear Selection Committee:

As a highly qualified professional with over 15 years' experience
serving The Ohio State University - Geodesy & Geodynamics Group,
General Positioning LLC, The University of Hawaii Sea Level Center,
The University of Hawaii at Manoa, The IT Group, Pacific Division,
and OHM Remediation Services in many and varied roles, I am now
seeking a position in R&D, Operations & Architecture, Project
Management, Service Strategies, or Support & Development that
provides new challenges and career advancement opportunities.
While the accompanying rÃ Æ Ã Â©sumÃ Æ Ã Â© details many achievements and numerous
projects I've guided to successful conclusions, please give special
consideration to these accomplishments as indicative of the value I
could provide:
* In my current position at Ohio State University's Division of
Geodetic Science in the School of Earth Sciences, I played an
instrumental role in designing implementing, and completing near-real-
time continuously operated reference stations (CORS) infrastructure
to provide research-grade geodetic reference frames, establish a
legacy framework for ongoing international geophysical observation,
and offer insight into global warming effects such as post-glacial
rebound centered around International Polar Year (IPY07-08)
Antarctica (PO-LENET), Western Antarctica (WAGN), and Greenland
(GNET).
* While serving General Positioning LLC as Systems Engineer, I was
a pivotal player in many relevant projects including: Sunshine Skyway
Bridge, Dames Point Bridge, and Mackinaw Bridge (see Publications). I
also diagnosed and repaired CORS GPS stations for the Michigan
Department of Transportation; troubleshot for Leica GPS (later Leica
Geosystems) on receiver hardware, firmware, and software issues; and
supported a business plan's technical components for the GPS startup
company, GeoC.
* As the University Of Hawaii Sea Level Center's Independent
Geodetic Consultant, I participated in planning/brainstorming
sessions related to GNSS hardware development with manufacturers and
assisted manufacturers in conceptual deployments of permanent
geodetic reference stations for various types of civil applications
throughout Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Portugal, Singapore, and the
United States.
* As a Geodetic Engineer at the University of Hawaii's Sea Level
Center, I significantly contributed to today's tsunami warning
systems and related technologies by designing, constructing, and
integrating Continuous GPS Stations at strategic geographic locations
centered between the Bahamas, Cape Verde, Chile, Honolulu, Palau,
Maldives, and Mexico and by improving site monumentation,
performance, quality, and reliability of data acquisition.
* Early in my career as a graduate research assistant at the
University Of Hawaii at Manoa, I designed and demonstrated Hawaii's
first real-time GPS network (one of the first worldwide) that
included stations in Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and Hawaii. The network was
utilized for GPS meteorology (later as foundation for real-time slow
earthquake detection on volcano Kilauea, Hawaii).
If my qualifications closely match your current needs, I would
appreciate an opportunity to meet and explore the ways I could be a
positive factor in your continued success. Thank you for your time
and consideration and I look forward to meeting with you soon.
Sincerely,

Dana J. Caccamise II
