PROFILE
A highly motivated, inquisitive, and enthusiastic foreign languages student with a competent knowledge of language tuition and customer service. Excellent recent exposure to the teaching industry both at home and abroad. Able to use own initiative as well as working efficiently as part of a team under pressure to meet challenging deadlines / objectives. Studying a broad range of courses within the Department of European Studies and Modern
Languages, including political and social modules. Developed an ability to undertake self-managed studies, planning and organising time effectively to meet deadlines. Learnt to critically analyse certain topic areas efficiently, as well as having learnt to promote own views coherently in a range of different environments, including presentations and written assignments. Gained a 2:1 average in Second Year. Course involved me undertaking a Year Abroad during the 2009/10 academic year. SU Bar Staff - University of Bath Students Union, Bath, UK Sep 2010 - DATE Demonstrating skills in money handling, team work, communication and customer service. English Teacher - Istituto Il Mulino, Legnaro, ITALY Mar 2010 - Aug 2010 Teaching English to people, aged 18 years old and upwards, in a private language institute. 20 hours of contact lessons a week, focusing predominantly on conversation practice. Occasionally assisted in translating documents from Italian into English when not teaching. Gaining confidence in organisational, communication and administrative skills. Language Assistant - Schkola Jonsdorf, Saxony, GERMANY Sep 2009 - Feb 2010 Taught English in a German secondary school to children aged 8 to 16 years old. 12 hours schedule contact lessons a week, focusing upon vocabulary / grammar practice, oral exam preparation, and conversation practice. Gained confidence speaking in front of large groups, whilst developing communication and organisational skills. Helped establish a unihockey club, and took a keen interest in extracurricular activities. VOLUNTARY / CHARITY WORK


AMITY Mentor Programme Sep 2010 - Nov 2010 Volunteered to mentor a group of incoming foreign students, to ensure a smooth progression to university life. Worked closely with them to ensure any issues were solved quickly and smoothly. Freshers Week Captain Sep 2010 - Oct 2010 Was asked to oversee a halls of residence at university, making sure all new first year students settled into university life quickly and happily. Trained and managed a group of Crew members to help look after the new intake of students. Student Associate Scheme June 2009 Volunteered to participate in a student mentoring scheme, working in a secondary school, encouraging younger students to consider Further Education whilst assisting them in the classroom. The role helped improve my teamwork, communication, and presentational skills.

ACHIEVEMENTS
Have been awarded Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards, a young leadership award which

involves many aspects designed to strengthen teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills.
Whilst at Marks & Spencer, received several rewards for delivering excellent customer service. Voted by other Final Year language students to represent them as an Academic Rep on the

University of Baths Academic Council and the Modern Languages Departments Student-Staff Liaison Committee.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
English German Italian Native language and have a good knowledge of English grammar. Have studied German for 10 years, and have an excellent knowledge of written and spoken language. Have competent knowledge of written and spoken Italian after 4 years of study.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
IT Skills: Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint, as well as daily use of E-mail and the Internet for assisting in research for essays and presentations. Typing speed: 66 words/min.
