Im Zusammenhang der Oper DIENSTAG aus LICHT entstand l99l eine Version des Werkes mit Tenor, Bafi und mit den genannten Instrumenten. Der Titel dieser Version ist JAHRESLAUF (I. Akt vom DIENSTAG aus LICHT). DER JAHRESLAUF wurde am 31. Oktober 1977 im Ndtionaltheater Tokio mi Instrumentalisten und TAnzern des Kaserlchen GagakuOrchesters uraufgefiihrt. Das Solo fiir Piccolo-Flte spielte Kathinka Pasveerzum ersten Male bei einer Geburtstagsfeier des Komponisten aln 22. August 1988 im Schlot3Georghausen bei Kiirten. PICCOLO ist ihr gewidmet.

THE COURSE OF THE YEARS was premiered on October 3lst 1977 at the National Theatre, Tokyo,by the instrumentalists and dancersof Ihe Ro.val Gagaku Orchestra. for the first time at a birthPICCOLO was played by Kathinka Pasveer day party for tlre composer on August 22nrJ 1988 at Schloss Georghausen near Ki.irten. Performance Practice
PICCOLO should always be played from memory. In large auditoriums, the piccolo should be amplified by transmitter and receiver, using a special clip-on microphone which is fastened to the clothing at the left above the heart. The dynamic level of the piccolo is then regulated by a sound projectioni st from an i nconspi cuous mi xi ng console at the centre of the hall, over two pairs of loudspeakerslocated at the left and right above the stage.

Man kann den Fltisten (die Fltistin) in einem dunklen Saal mit einem Verfolgerscheinwerfer als Medallon (runder Schein mit Kopf, Instrument bis zur Htifte) oder in Krpergr]e beleuchten. Im Zusammenhangeines Programms mit anderen Kompositionen kann man PICCOLO an einer unerwarteten Stelle des Saales auffiihren (Balkon, Empore), die von allen gesehenwird. In a darkened hall, the flutist can be lit like amedallion by a follower spot (the head and instrument in a circle of light ending at the hips), or the enti re body can be l i t. In the context of a program with other compositions, PICCOLO could be performed at an unexpected place in the hall (balcony, box) visible to all. The musician should be seen only when the spotlight is faded in, and should disappearat the end by very gradually fading out the light.
