Southeastern Panhellenic Conference 2011


The Panhellenic Executive Board attended SEPC in early April 2011 and is very proud to have received an award for excellence in Panhellenic Relations.

Philanthropy
Over was raised in total by the Panhellenic community for various philanthropies including:
Prevent Child Abuse America Cystic Fibrosis American Cancer Society Reading is Fundamental St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital Ronald McDonald House Breast Cancer Awareness and Research Service for Sight Aid to the Blind Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorder

The University of Miamis Panhellenic Association decided to choose as their Philanthropy starting this fall semester. The Circle of Sisterhood Foundation hopes to leverage the collective wisdom and influence of sorority women to support entities around the world that remove educational barriers for girls and women, uplifting them from poverty and oppression. This amazing organization believes that education is the key to eradicating poverty and the answer to many other global issues related to women, e.g., HIV, human trafficking, womens health, etc. The Panhellenic Associations goal for the fall semester is to raise $2500, which will pay for a year of school for more than 50 young girls. The Panhellenic Association is proud to say that the all-sorority GPA continues to be higher than the GPA of the general female student body. Highest GPA Fall 2010: Alpha Delta Pi & Zeta Tau Alpha (Tied) Highest GPA Spring 2011: Alpha Delta Pi Most Improved GPA: Kappa Kappa Gamma

Involvement
Sorority women at the University of Miami are incredibly active on campus and are visible in many different capacities. Our members are involved in Orientation Fellows, Homecoming Executive Board, Cane For A Day, Fun Day Executive Board, Student Government, Up Til Dawn, Relay for Life, Dance Marathon, IBIS Yearbook, Hurricane Productions, Greek Earth Day, The Rathskellar Advisory Board, Presidents 100, Hurricanes Help the Hometown, Gandhi Day, The Miami Hurricane, club sports, the creative and performing arts, Relay for Life, and much more! Alumni MacKenzie Green (KK) and Emily Cook (ZTA) are 2010s Miss District of Columbia and Miss Georgia, respectively.

Recruitment
In January of 2011, 297 wonderful new members joined Panhellenic life at UM. We are thrilled with the quality of women that have been becoming a part of Greek life and cannot wait for recruitment in January of 2012. Stay posted for the announcement of the official dates for next year.
