Have some fun this February Half Term Holiday!
Leisure Services are offering a range of exciting activities designed to keep everyone entertained over February Half Term. Sport and Leisure are piloting some new activities free of charge so make the most of these this February Half Term. Don't forget to use your Wild Card for the South Charnwood, Loughborough and Soar Valley Leisure Centre activities. New activities will be available in the Easter and Summer programmes for you to get even more from your Wild Card! Activities include Multi Sport activities, Orienteering, Sports Leadership course and something for the parents. Dont forget about our free Play Ranger Tour! Theyll be just as action packed as last year offering sports, crafts, and games for all the family.

You will be able to do a variety of sports and games on the MUGA at Cobden Primary School with our enthusiastic coaches.Activities available will be football, kwik cricket, team games and much more. Please come wearing warm clothes. No booking required. Please remember to bring a drink.

Free Taster Session

ORIENTEERING AT WATERMEAD PARK

This beginner session will introduce you to orienteering, including map reading, running and route choice decisions (without getting lost or falling over!) Following a course, you will work together in a team to solve clues which will lead you to your destination. 1.50 for the car park, payable on entrance (please note exact money is needed). Please come wearing warm clothes and suitable footwear.This session will be split into two groups family event (under 8's accompanied by parents) and 8-16's. Booking required along with a 2 returnable deposit.

PARENT AND CHILD SESSIONS

New for February! Multi Sport activities for the kids. Parents come and try Zumba, get health checks, catch up with friends and find out more about what other fitness activities are on in Charnwood while the kids take part in multi sport activities with our two multi sports coaches. Zumba is one of the fastest growing fitness sessions in the country, come and join our instructor who will take you through a Latin inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party thats moving millions of people toward joy and health. The award gives people aged 16 and over the skills needed to lead groups in safe sporting and recreational activity. It encourages participants to take responsibility for others, develops organisational and communication skills and instils confidence in people for whom leading groups in sporting activities is a new experience.The majority of the course is practical in nature with an emphasis on learning through doing, rather than through written work. Try and complete this giant floating obstacle course as quick as you can, race a friend and slide down into the water.The Twin Track has two obstacle courses side by side, starting from the shallow end of the pool make your way along the track to the large slide at the deep end. Play Ranger Half Term Activities

Play Rangers are funded by the Big Lottery Fund and they aim to give children and families opportunities to come out into Charnwood, use community facilities and play! All sessions are free to attend, come and have a go! Events listed as Family Events are for all the family to participate in. At these activities all under 8s must be accompanied by an adult.

A nature walk using our senses to explore the meadows and woods of Dishley Pool Wildlife Area. Come prepared to smell, look, feel and listen to nature - but probably not taste unless you bring a snack! Boots or wellies and warm clothing recommended.
