CORRECTIONS: None MATERIALS 630-133 Lion Brand Wool-Ease Chunky: Pumpkin 1 Skeins (A) 630-127 Lion Brand Wool-Ease Chunky: Walnut 1 Skeins (B) 620-153 Lion Brand Wool-Ease: Black 1 Skeins (C) - used for embroidery -- very small quantity required Large-Eye Blunt Needles (Set of 6) Giant 5 inch Plastic Red Superknitter (Large Spool Knitter) NOTES:

Yarn is used doubled throughout (2 strands).

HOT PAD With 2 strands of (A) held together (use both ends of skein) make a 44 in [112 cm] cord, leaving a tail of about 24 inches at the beginning. Change to B, Continue for 2 inches [5 cm]. Cut yarn and fasten off. FINISHING Starting with the orange end (A) coil the cord, into a flat oval shape. Thread a tail onto the needle and use this to sew the coil in place as you go. When you reach the point where the cord changes color, that is the stem. Stop sewing, tie off the end and weave in. Note: If you want to change the angle at which the stem attaches to the pumpkin, you may want to take a few small, invisible stitches to position it as you wish. Thread the black wool-ease (C) onto the large-eyed blunt needle and embroider a face of your choice.

*Wool-Ease Chunky (Article #650) is a bulky weight yarn -- a little heavier than original (worsted weight) Wool-Ease, but not as heavy as (super chunky weight) Wool-Ease Thick & Quick. It works up quickly and easily, yet is not really bulky. 80% Acrylic, 20% Wool. Packaged in 5 oz/140g; 153 yd/140m skeins.
