[MERCHANDISING ON SONY ] June 11, 2011 Prologue Merchandising is a very useful process of marketing. Now a days customer wants all kind of products at 1 place, they do not want to go different -2 places for buying their needed product. So according to that every company is Doing Merchandising for the customers and they can get product easily. Merchandising is available in all stores, they keep the entire product visible for the customer so they can buy everything and they can take their bags full of the products. In merchandising Process Company, give all kind of facility to the customer, which includes service of product, customer satisfaction, and after purchasing installation and service also comes in that. It is very helpful to increase the sales of the product. In the Project Report will come to know about the Sony Merchandising process, how they are doing and managing all that things under one roof. INTORDUCTION Sony Corporation is a multinational conglomerate corporation headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, and one of the world's largest media conglomerate with revenue of US$77.2 billion (as of 2010) based in Minato, Tokyo. Sony is one of the leading manufacturers of electronics, video, communications, video game consoles and information technology products for the consumer and professional markets. Its name was derived from Sonus, the Greek goddess of sound. Sony Corporation is the electronics business unit and the parent company of the Sony Group, which is engaged in business through its five operating segmentselectronics, games, entertainment (motion pictures and music), financial services and other. These make Sony one of the most comprehensive entertainment companies in the world. In a burnt-out department store in Tokyo in 1946, just after World War II, Masaru Ibuka and Akio Morita, running a company then known as Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo (Tokyo Telecommunications Engineering), attempted to produce a simple electric rice cooker. It did not work too well, but it kicked-off their desire to produce products for everyday life. In 1958, the company name was changed to Sony Corporation and since then, Sony has become one of the most recognized brand names in the history of the modern world. From the outset, Ibuka and Morita strove to develop exciting products to fulfill people dreams. From its first transistor radio in 1955, to the Trinitron, Walkman, Beta cam, Handy cam, the Compact Disc and the floppy disc .Sony has continually made things better, smaller and more innovative than ever thought possible.

[MERCHANDISING ON SONY ] June 11, 2011 Objective of the Study:My topic for the CCS work is Sony and I am doing work on its consumer goods. My objective of study Sony is related to know its Merchandising process, like why they are very popular in world. As we know, Sony is very famous Brand, which is providing all kind of consumer goods to customers. Therefore, my target will be the strategy, which they are using for getting more sales, how they are promoting their product, and what kind of facilities they are providing to their customers and they are taking care for need of customers. I will include LCD TVs., Laptop, home theatre, hi-fi music system and handy cam, digital camera etc. so in this all category I will do merchandising work to know their sales process, how they providing product. I will do work on their Store ambience, Store location, Trade area and competitor in the nearest area. It will help me to get the detail about the companys Merchandising process, like why customer will come to that store. Who is the competitor of that company? How they are promoting and attracting the customers and the people who are working in the store they have the proper knowledge of the products or not, do they have stock availability or not, if product is not available so how much time they will take to deliver the product.

[MERCHANDISING ON SONY ] June 11, 2011 METHODOLOGY:I went for primary research in Sony Centre At Ramaiah Road, Mantri mall and Indira nagar , and I met with the store manager of the particular stores, in 1 store manager was Not there so I asked question to sales person regarding my Project and he gave me the detail about the products. For further detail for project, I will go some more stores and I will get information for merchandising process of Sony. For the secondary research I used company website, I am doing contact to sales person of the company, and I am adding detail into my reports.
