-The diesel engine capacity required to operate the submersible pump motor -Taking 0.9 motor efficiency the required power would be=115/0.9=127.77kw Considering the generator and the cable losses the engine shoud be -Rated for=127.77/0.9=141.97Kw -Taking the power factor of the generator as 0.8 =141.97/0.8=177.46 KVA -Taking derating factor of 0.94 the KVA rating of the gunset should be =177.46/0.94=188.79 KVA So a gunset with 190 KVA or the next available higher capacity generator should be selected.
