HUDDLE PROCEDURE

The extra-point and field goal teams have been designed to utilize the maximum effectiveness of our kicker and total field goal, extra-point personnel. We will be concise and sound in our execution of these teams and our package will be compact but complete. Also, it will make the opposition spend extra time on possibilities that could come about from our pac:kage.

The following

times will be required by the field goal, extra-point

HOLDER

You are the "Quarterback" of the fied goal and extra point team. After you have broken the huddle you are as responsible for a successful kick as the Kicker. You must be part of a smooth rhythm between snap, hold and kick. Place your hand down on a spot 8 yards from the front tip of the ball picked by your kicker. Give your team a verbal command as to which side the defenders are overloading on each kick. EXAMPLE: "Middle, Right, or Left". This will be consistent with special situations later on. When the team and kicker are ready, give the command "READY", then give y:>ur Center a target with your hand and the ball will be snapped when the Ct!nter is ready. You must be sure that your Kicker and the team overall is read v before yOU aive the command. Receive the snap and place it quickly on the spot with laces away from the Kicker. Be alert to yell "FIRE" on an,! malfunction. On field goal situations, you will be the Safety on the right half of the field. Pick out a spot for placement behind the ball 8 yards deep. Let the holder know when you are ready. Concentrate on the holder's ~~. When it is picked up to receive the snap, start your approach. You will cover as Safety to the left half of the field on field goal situations. (Cover FIRE CALL with Kicker) --whether blocker or Kil~ker --
