This twelve day tour through Colombia offers a spectacular mix of history, ecotourism, beach. You will discover the incredible diversity and charm of Colombia in a tour through the historical centre of Bogot, the museum which has the largest collection of works by the Colombian painter and sculptor Fernando Botero, the worlds most important Gold Museum as well as the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquir, carved inside an active salt mine. You will also get to know the place where the best coffee in the world is grown while horseback riding through the Andes mountain range. In the Caribbean you will travel back in time on a horse drawn carriage through the walled city of Cartagena and enjoy an exciting boat-ride before getting a well-earned rest at a paradisiacal island with internal lagoons, tropical rainforest and lush vegetation, where you will enjoy the wonders, beauty and colors of the underwater world of the National Nature Park Corales del Rosario. THE PROGRAM Day 1: Thursday, October 28th, 2010


Departure from Amsterdam to Bogot via Madrid. (AVIANCA has a partnership with IBERIA). Arrival at Bogot, and transfer to the five-star Windsor House Hotel. This hotel, with a warm and cozy ambience, is close to 93 park, a great place to relax, have lunch or dinner, or just hang out.

Day 2: Friday, October 29th, 2010


Visit to the Hill and Sanctuary of Montserrat, for a truly breathtaking 360-degree view of Bogot. Visit to the Gold Museum, home to the largest collection of pre-Hispanic handmade gold pieces from Colombias original inhabitants. Visit to the Botero Museum, Colombias Museum dedicated to the work of Fernando Botero.

Day 3: Saturday, October 30th, 2010


Guided tour through historic Bogot. A fascinating tour through the highlights of one of the most vibrant cities in the world. Walk by Luis ngel Arango Library, Columbus Theater, San Carlos Palace, San Ignacios Church, Bolivars Square, Bogots overwhelming main square surrounded by neoclassic government palaces and the Primada Cathedral, the largest church in the country.

Visit to the Casa de Nario, the workplace and residence of the Presidents of Colombia. Trip to the town of Zipaquir and visit to the Salt Cathedral, a wonderful architectonic and engineering work constructed 180 meters deep inside the cavern of a salt mine. Day 4: Sunday, October 31st, 2010


Guided tour through Usaquen, one of the small villages which has become part of Bogot. Walk by beautiful colonial houses with facades painted in many different colors. Visit Usaquen Plaza, Santa Barbara Church, the Toldos de San Pelayo and the Carpe Diem flea market, which offers visitors antiques, curiosities, glassware, hand-crafts and clothing. Walking tour along the so-called Street of the Antique dealers or Street 79. Visit to Artesanas de Colombia (Crafts), Centro Andino (shopping mall), El Retiro (mall) and the Street of Fashion, where most of the prestigious fashion designers of Colombia are located.

Day 5: Monday, November 1st, 2010


Flight to Pereira (Coffee Region). Transfer to the five-star Sazagua Boutique Hotel with its enchanting atmosphere of homelike comfort. Guided visit to the Colombian National Coffee Park in the heart of the Coffee Region in Central Colombia. Learn the entire coffeeproduction process while walking through coffee plantations, exotic vegetation and tropical rain forest.

Visit Salento and Cocora Valley, a wildlife sanctuary located in the central Andean mountains. Make sure you bring some local currency (Colombian peso) and meet the locals in dozens of little shops full with local artwork and bamboo souvenirs. Horseback riding or walking tour through the cloud forest home to Colombias national tree, the Wax Palm, which can grow up to 60 meters high.

Day 8: Thursday, November 4th, 2010

Guided city tour on a Colombian legendary Chiva bus through the residential areas of the historic sites of Cartagena. Visit San Felipe fortress, designed by the Dutch engineer Richard Carr. Back at the old city visit Las Bovedas (the dungeons) where provisions were stored for the troops during the Spanish time. Today this place serves as a market of hand-crafts, souvenirs, and even jewelry stores.

Day 10: Saturday, November 6th, 2010


Transfer to the pier. Transfer in private boat to the Rosarios Coral Reef National Park. Enjoy the clear turquoise waters and golden beaches of Rosario Islands.

Crystal-clear blue and green waters, unique ecology and biodiversity, and a lodging option that allows direct contact with nature are some of the features that make Tayrona National Park the ideal destination for nature and adventure lovers. Lonely Planet Publications chose this lovely nature reserve as one of the ten destinations to visit in 2010. It is located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and consists of 15,000 colorful hectares, 3,000 of which are marine. Thousands of colorful animal and vegetable species, distributed from sea level to 5,775 meters, inhabit the reserve.

Sprawling across almost 300,000 hectares, Amacayacu is ideal to observe the Amazonian rainforest.
